🧨🧨 ATTENTION CLIENTS 🎇🎇
While some of us humans may find it a fun celebration, it can be a stressful and even dangerous time for our pet friends. ( territory day)
Whether it’s their first Cracker Night or they’ve been through it before, preparation can make all the difference.
Here is few things you can do
📌Bring your pets inside on cracker night.
📌Close all doors, windows and curtains/blinds so they can't see the flashes.
📌Create a shelter where your animal can retreat too, preferably in the most central room of the house where noises don't travel so they don’t feel scared and they feel safe.
📌Turn TV or Radio on so they can hear that more than the fireworks 🧨
📌Keep them clam and talk to them if your at home.. Comforting your dog & cat is perfectly okay. There is NO need to ignore them when they are frightened. Studies show, providing calm comfort does not make their fears worse.
📌 FOOD -Have your animals highest value food/treats on hand and offer them as the bangs start. Have some un-processed long lasting chewy treats . But your pet may be too stressed to eat.
❌ NEVER tie or tether your dog. This can be very dangerous and will stress your dog more. As they will be just a scared and not nice for them. ❌
‼️ GOOD FENCE.. make sure there no holes or anything that they can get through.. close your gate .. Give them somewhere safe and comfortable for them to go while it on.
HERE IS FEW THING THEY CAN HAVE
🩵** AUSSIE POOCH - They sell few things for your fur babies..
*** Territory tried and tested herbal blend which has a natural sedative effect for dogs who experience fear, panic and anxiety during crackers and fireworks. **** 🩵
🐶 ❗️Use calming aids like ADAPTIL or Pet Relax to help them feel more secure (Pet Relax is available for FREE at the Civic Centre and City of Darwin libraries!)🐈 ❗️
❗️^^ VETS - If you know your animal is acutely petrified of fireworks, plan a vet visit to discuss drugs options for the night. If your vet offers Ace (Acepromazine), ask for something else. ACP does NOT work to relieve anxiety. It immobilises so your dog is fully aware, still experiencing the internal terror but cannot react…. ‼️
💚 Make sure that your pets are microchipped & registered to improve chances of a quick reunion if they do get lost. 💚
🐴 If your pet has gone missing or you need to report an issue, on 08 8930 0600.🐴
🌷MOST IMPORTANTLY BE SAFE HAVE FUN BUT PLEASE 🙏🏼 KEEP EYE ON YOUR FUR BABIES.. Doesn’t have to be Dogs or Cats, this can be horses , bunnies ect 🌷
💢. REMEMBER YES , YOU WILL STILL GET SOME PEOPLE LET THEM OFF EARLY & ALSO FEW DAYS AFTER TOO.. 💢
With much love
Your loving pet sitter
