Wandilla Farm and Equine Services

Wandilla Farm and Equine Services Western Downs spelling, regenerative farming, hay & mineral mixes. Equine podiotherapy & nutrition"

Kylie and her partner Jono operate Wandilla Farm and Equine Services. We offers services in barefoot trimming, equine nutrition, hay and chaff supplies, custom mineral mixes and equine supplements. Kylie has a special interest in horses with PPID (Pituitary Pars Intermedia Dysfunction - Cushings Disease) and EMS (Equine Metabolic Syndrome). We aim for optimum health in our horses via nutrition - m

ineral balanced diet, herd turnout and regular trimming and bodywork if required. We grow own hay and source hay locally for the varying nutritional requirements for our horses. Our hay is tested through Equi-Analytical or Dairy One in the USA which provides a foundation for custom mineral and nutritional supplementation. We offer services in hay coring/testing and balancing diets for optimal nutrition. We are passionate about our horse's hooves and trim on a 3-4 week cycle depending on growth/wear and pathologies/deformities. Our horses have come to us with varying degrees of hoof deformities and pathologies including, acute and chronic laminitis, chronic founder, club feet, hoof cracks and seedy toe to name a few. We are passionate about rehabilitation and are more than happy to work with other professionals including vets, farriers, bodyworkers/therapists and other modalities....it's all about what can help the horse! I am a qualified equine podiotherapist (barefoot trimmer) having studied through the Australian College of Equine Podiotherapy in Victoria and have been trimming for seven years. Based on the teachings of Dr Eleanor I compound minerals particularly copper, zinc and salt for my clients focusing on overall health of the horse. Currently completing my studies with:

National College of Traditional Medicine - Diploma in Equine Nutrition

Hi Folks

Just a heads up that my next Moreton Bay region trip will be 4 September 20206 onwards.

Please let me know if you need minerals. I will be in touch with those that need trims in the coming days.

We are extremely under the pump here at the moment with exciting things to come, then baling season so the rest of the year will be extra chaotic. Nothing unusual but that's our life :D

The joys of farming and off farm work eh? :-)

An important webinar in my view. I've spoken to many people about early detection of PPID (aka) Cushings and not being picked up via ACTH testing. I've mentioned the TRH stimulation test that is required to be done in winter and gives a more accurate diagnose for early onset PPID that ACTH testing did not pick up.

For those that have horses moving into mid teens this webinar would be a great education tool.

Horses exhibiting early signs may well have early PPID but often test negative for ACTH, an insensitive test, missing 35 to 40+% of early cases. That's a lot of cases. ECIR Group recommends testing and careful monitoring of subtle changes.

Horses previously diagnosed as PPID need to be followed to ensure their disease is managed and insulin is controlled. High insulin often can be driven by PPID and should be especially noted in the typical non-metabolic breeds. ECIR Group recommends endocrinopathic (metabolic) testing and a careful assessment of clinical signs. Learn details at our next live webinar:

Cold temperatures can trigger severe hoof pain in some horses, a condition coined "Winter Laminitis". However, there is no evidence that this is an inflammatory condition and typically there are no radiographic changes. So what is this syndrome and how should it be managed?

Congratulations Kylie on your achievements! I met Kylie at The Equine Collective and was blown away by the connection between her and her horse. It was an absolute pleasure to watch them both :)

The biggest congratulations goes to Kylie for her outstanding performances at the Invictus Germany Sports Festival 2026!

๐ŸฅˆEndurance rowing

๐ŸฅˆSitting volleyball

Persistence and hard work definitely paid off over the last few months. Considering Kylie mainly participates in Para Dressage and wheelchair basketball, her determination to make things work and learn new tasks is impressive. Itโ€™s been really fun to be a small part of her allied health team, along side Tom from

Well done Kylie! ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ
