Been a bit quiet on here recently as we have had a bit going on. Some of you may remember our little cleft lip boy ‘Han’ from our last litter. Well unfortunately as well as his cleft lip he unfortunately didn’t develop working eyes. This was a lot to try get our heads around at the time as I was heartbroken thinking he was never going to see and thinking maybe I had done something wrong to cause this, when breeding for health is my ultimate goal 😢 After talking with a few different vets they all told me he was just unlucky and there was no real reason for him to be like this. All DNA testing had been done on both Cleo and Louie so this is why it broke my heart as it was not expected. It just made me realise just how hard breeding dogs is (emotionally and physically) It was a wild ride for us and we were all so invested.
Anyway a little update on Han. Once we knew he was blind there was no question in my head that I knew we would be keeping him 🥰 He had to have an eye removed that was unfortunately full of fluid. He had the big surgery a few weeks ago and has since recovered amazingly and is living his happy little life to the fullest ❤️ This puppy is SO special I can’t even describe it. He has shown me so much love and happiness despite his lack of sight or slightly tougher start in life. It hasn’t held him back at all 😍 I’m going to start up a little instagram page at some point for you all to follow his journey (and ours navigating how to live with a blind dog for the first time) and I hope he can also bring smiles to other people just as he has for me (especially when you are having a bad day). Once I do I will post it on here for you all to follow if you wish. He is thriving and loving his life with his brother ‘Wolfy’ and his mummy ‘Cleo’ ❤️
