BLUEBERRY UPDATE! 🫐

We’ve had many of you popping in and calling to ask if we have blueberry plants in stock. So we thought we’d give you an update!

Did you know that most of the wholesale blueberry plants are grown interstate!?!

Due to strict biosecurity rules from PIRSA
(Department of Primary Industries and Regions SA), blueberry plant imports into South Australia are currently restricted to protect our state from Blueberry Rust outbreaks occurring interstate. At this stage, PIRSA has no immediate plans to lift these conditions.

Because we are dedicated to keeping South Australia’s gardens and growers safe and disease-free, we are strictly following these guidelines and waiting for local stock conditions to open up.

This means that we are unlikely to be receiving any stock this season. However, if we are lucky enough to get our hands on some you’ll be the first to hear!!

🐔 WE ALWAYS NEED MORE CHICKENS…but this time…..WE NEED ANOTHER HUMAN! 🌾

Warmer weather is coming, Christmas will be here before we know it, and Sandersons is about to get BUSIER.

So, we’re looking for another great person to join our little team.

This is not a “stand behind the counter and smile” kind of job.

You’ll be:
• Serving customers
• Lifting 20kg bags
• Restocking shelves
• Loading cars
• Catching chickens
• Giving advice
• Cleaning, tidying and generally pitching in wherever needed

Some days you’ll be talking dog food, the next minute you’ll be chasing a chicken around a coop. 😆

We’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, hardworking, confident with customers and genuinely happy to get stuck in.

🚨 THE IMPORTANT BIT 🚨
You must be available on weekdays (during the day) AND Saturdays

Please only apply if this availability genuinely works for you.

Experience with animals, gardening, fodder or rural retail is a bonus, but attitude, reliability and willingness to learn matter just as much.

Pop in store and introduce yourself with your resume, containing little bit about yourself and your current availability.

Due to the number of applications we receive, only applicants selected to progress will be contacted.

And yes… catching chickens really is part of the job. 🐔😂

Happy 15th Birthday to our most senior Sandersons staff member. 🐾🎉

Some of our customers might remember Taya from her days working the shop floor, greeting customers and generally supervising everyone.

These days she’s on permanent WorkCover… or possibly just very committed to retirement. 😂 Her legs aren’t quite up to a shift anymore, but she still takes her role as chief treat tester very seriously.

15 years old, a little wobbly, very grey, and still running the show and treat testing from home. ❤️
