A Starc update,
our handsome Silver Sable German Shepherd!

Starc has had the opportunity of being able to do hydrotherapy from when he was fully vaccinated pup, as his parents owns K9 Aquatic Therapy and Conditioning.

Now at 17 months old, our beautiful boy has developed into a strong, powerful and incredibly well conditioned young German Shepherd
Hydrotherapy has been a part of Starc’s routine throughout his growth, helping him develop strength, coordination, body awareness and fitness, while keeping things low-impact on those growing joints.
We also believe in working alongside other professionals and keeping a close eye on Starc’s development. Every 3 months, Starc visits to Humphrey’s Animal Health for a chiropractic check-up and, when required, an adjustment to make sure everything is moving and functioning as it should.
Interestingly, thanks to his regular hydrotherapy and conditioning sessions, Starc hasn’t required an adjustment in the past 2 appointments!

And let’s be honest... Starc doesn’t exactly come to K9 Aquatic Therapy and Conditioning just for the exercise! He absolutely LOVES his sessions and has certainly made the most of every minute on the treadmill.
From a tiny 4 month old puppy finding his feet in the water... to the strong, confident young dog he is today, the transformation has been incredible to watch.
So how does hydrotherapy work for your puppy?

🐾 A Trip Down Memory Lane… Reintroducing Turbo! 💙

Turbo was one of the very first clients to visit K9 Aquatic Therapy and Conditioning, so after looking back through his file, we thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce this special little guy.

When Turbo first came to us, he had a Grade 2/4 Medial Luxating Patella (MLP), positive Ortolani signs in both hips, and muscle atrophy in his right hind leg. Oh… and he wasn’t a fan of water!

Together with his dedicated family and veterinarian, we followed a structured hydrotherapy program, gradually building his confidence, strength and muscle mass.

The result? ✨ Turbo avoided surgery.

Now, two years later, he’s still doing incredibly well, and we’re so proud to have been part of his journey.

Every dog and every diagnosis is different, and we can never promise the same outcome. But Turbo’s story is a wonderful reminder of what can sometimes be achieved through early intervention, consistency, and teamwork between owners, veterinarians and canine hydrotherapists.

Thank you, Turbo, for trusting us from the very beginning. Watching your journey has been an absolute privilege. ❤️🐾
