A LITTLE BRUSH GOES A LONG WAY!

It’s that time of year again!

As the weather warms up, our furry friends are starting to shed their winter coats, and we all know what that means… DOG HAIR EVERYWHERE!

Here at K9 Aquatic Therapy and Conditioning, we love welcoming dogs of all breeds, sizes and coat types, but there’s one thing they all have in common… they leave a little bit of themselves behind! 🐾

When dogs enter our warm 32°C underwater treadmill, loose hair naturally comes away from their coats and ends up in the water.

While our hydrotherapy system has filtration and sanitising processes, excessive hair can put extra demand on our filters.

🐾 HOW CAN YOU HELP?

A quick 5–10 minute brush before your dog’s appointment can:

✅ Remove loose and shedding hair.

✅ Reduce the amount of hair entering our filtration system.

✅ Help maintain cleaner water.

✅ Reduce cleaning time between sessions.

✅ Keep your dog’s coat healthy and free from tangles.

A LITTLE FAVOUR FROM US!

With shedding season upon us, we kindly ask that you give your dog a good brush before their hydrotherapy appointment.

We’re certainly not expecting a hair-free dog (we know that’s impossible! 😂), but every little bit helps!

Less time collecting fur means more time focusing on what matters most — helping your dog move, strengthen and feel their best!

Thank you to all our wonderful clients for helping us keep our hydrotherapy booth clean and running smoothly!

💙🐾 Meet Koda! 🐾💙

Koda is a gorgeous 6-year-old Labrador x who has been on his rehabilitation journey with us following CCL surgery.

But Koda’s journey hasn’t involved just one surgery… or even two.

Koda has had THREE CCL surgeries — two on his left hind leg and one on his right. 🐾

That’s a huge amount for any dog to go through, and his rehabilitation journey has required patience, consistency and plenty of hard work.

Recently, Koda had his follow-up X-rays, and we were so happy to hear the words:

“Not fully there, but it’s improved.” 💙

And that’s what rehabilitation is all about — progress, not perfection.

Koda is a very energetic boy, and he absolutely LOVES his hydrotherapy sessions!
His enthusiasm is certainly not in short supply, and he’s always ready to get moving.

The underwater treadmill provides a controlled environment where we can help Koda continue building strength, supporting his recovery and improving his movement, while keeping his rehabilitation structured and appropriate for where he is at in his journey.

After three CCL surgeries, seeing improvement on those X-rays is fantastic news.

We’ll continue taking things one step at a time, focusing on steady progress and giving Koda the best opportunity to keep getting stronger.

Keep up the great work, Koda! 💙

We love seeing that happy face and all that energy!

Not fully there… but definitely improving. 🐾💙
