As all our followers are aware - there have been a lot of new and fresh faces at Concord Vet in the last year or so. Not only that, there have also been big changes like the move to appointments (finally!) and dedicated Veterinary Receptionists - Steph, Jane, and Karen. When you make such significant positive changes you really wonder why we didn't do it years ago!
As a small token of our appreciation to our incredible veterinary nursing and animal attendant team - we had a bit of a fun-nurse-scrub-hat day. And of course we had to include the perennial Concord Vet mascot, Piper.
Piper is a pretty good judge of character - and she is one of those dogs that actually smiles. Smiling is normally limited to Dalmatians and Golden Retrievers, and when they do smile they lift their lips and scrunch up their nose. It is commonly confused with growling, and if a 25kg Australian Shepherd is coming towards you bearing their teeth, it is completely normal to be on edge, back up, and give them space. But with Piper - this actually means she loves you (we know... weird right?)
There is a reason Piper smiles at every Veterinary Nurse and Animal Attendant at Concord Vet. To paraphrase the clinic mascot, I have it on good authority that Piper is of the strong opinion that...
Nurse Fin:
So kind, hard working, always takes amazing care of her patients, very talented clinical skills, and Dr David and Dr Rebecca often lean on her for help! We are lucky to have Fin as part of our team!
Nurse Elyse:
Hard working, always busy, an outward calm about her, and what we term "nurse goals" with her clinical skills. She is the clinic champion for things like catheter placement, blood collection, anaesthetic monitoring... We are lucky to have Elyse as part of our team!
Nurse Beyza:
Exceptional work ethic, always looking to do and learn more, master cat and dog handler whilst building trust with kindness with our patients, clinical skills improving at the speed of a rocket. We are lucky to have Beyza as part of our team!
Nurse Kiara:
The calming influence around the clinic, exceptional and thoughtful patient care with both hospital and surgical patients, an absolute gun with anaesthetic monitoring and difficult anaesthesia cases. We are lucky to have Kiara as part of our team!
Nurse Ahndrea:
Lifts the hospital just with her presence, she is far from the clinic clown but she makes us all laugh constantly, always looking to help out with her incredible work ethic and her gentle and kind approach. Unfortunately Ahndrea has chosen to pursue a career in human health care (we know... gross right?). In the meantime - we are lucky to have Ahndrea as part of our team!
And not present in the photo are:
Rachel: truly the backbone of the clinic. No need to say more!
Serena: always on an upward trajectory with her skills and learning!
Madeline: our newest team member, already showing her commitment to our patients and their welfare.
We are lucky to have Rachel, Serena, and Madeline as part of our team.
And yes, that is Fin on the right in the photo, giving Piper a big old kiss on the lips!
Piper approves 😍🐱🐕☺️😇
