The June Newsletter is now available on our website. July 1 will see Dr Ben Rhodes take over from his Dad, Dr Mike as he steps back from the busy life. Our Practice Manager, Cindy is also retiring.

The local collaboration we didn't know we needed 🐢 Dr Ben and Dr Annas
I'm sure you've seen the write up in the local but here's a quick run down.
Dr Ben was presented with an injured wild turtle later named Leo. After treating superficial injuries and ruling out any deep tissue trauma or broken bones Dr Ben's focus was on fixing Leo's shell to give him the best and quickest recovery. Having spent time practising in Northern Queensland Dr Ben had repaired his share of sea turtle shells and knew the supplies he needed but didnt have them on hand at the clinic. Hopeful he reached out to the team at Colac Smiles where Dr Annas was intrigued and more than happy to lend a helping hand and supplies. They completed the repair with some local anesthetic and dental glue; the safest substance to glue the shell back together and accelerate healing.
🐢 What a lucky guy landing in the caring hands of Dr Ben and Dr Annas.
Leo is now in the safe hands of a wildlife carer before being released back into the wild.
