Bright Bessy Dog Training BBDT uses force free training and behaviour modification- showing your dog how to make good decisions I have developed that method. It is simple and logical.

I have seen the need for the development of an uncomplicated, no-frills method of dog training which clients can feel comfortable with and understand. It has no gimmicks and is highly effective. My method needs no equipment other than a flat collar and lead and does not involve the use of force or fear in any way, shape or form. Since the inception of Bright Bessy Dog Training, I have trained thousands of dogs, many of which had major behavioural problems, needed to develop some manners, had an owner that needed a helper or were young pups needing a great start in life. I don’t make unrealistic promises. I maintain a sense of humour and we am passionate about what I do.

BASIL was scared of having his harness put on .
We worked out that it was due to his ears having been sore- so he was associating the harness with discomfort.
As from today,with a few training techniques,he's putting his head through the harness without shying away.
He also was refusing his ears being treated with preventative spray. We now spray a tissue with the unpleasant smelling spray and make wiping the inside of his ears fun
There's always a gentle way to desensitise a dog !!

A feel good story ......
Sometimes I have the honour of being able to link a person who would like a new dog,with a dog that needs rehoming.
MARLOW is one such dog.
He was being attacked by one of the other dogs in his previous home.
At the same time,I knew of a lady who was missing her dog that had passed away.
After a little training,some head thinking and not too much heart thinking- MARLOW has his new owner.
Both are very happy and smitten with one another!!

Apparently he is quite reactive and has had little training.
Today he was near perfect - just two growls.
We started with a sniff walk to help relax him .....

It's the same with a dog.
Teach it strong foundation skills and then build better behaviour.
DIGGER is responding beautifully to his step by step training which is also building his confidence....then we can start correcting his reactivity.It would be totally ineffective to 'put the cart before the horse'!
