To our wonderful clients,

Unfortunately, Dr Lana is unwell today and will be away from the clinic. We wish her a speedy recovery 💛

In the meantime, Dr Derek will be doing his very best to channel his inner Hermione Granger and find a time-turner so he can be in two places at once 😝—covering both surgical procedures and consults alongside our amazing nursing team 🪄

Because of this, appointments may experience delays throughout the day. Please know we will be doing everything we can to stay as close to schedule as humanly possible.

🐾 Exciting Opportunity for Our Clients! 🐾

Our Head Nurse Megan is undertaking a Nurse Nutrition Consultant course, and as part of her training, we're looking for 2 patients to participate in **in-person nutrition consultations.

These consults will either be filmed or supervised by a Hills representative as part of an assessment.

Requirements:
• Must be available to attend the hospital on Tuesday 12th May
• This is a *nutrition consultation only* — no diagnoses will be made
• Suitable for pets with an existing, diagnosed condition (not for new or undiagnosed concerns), or general nutrition wellbeing

This is a great opportunity to receive tailored nutritional guidance for your pet while supporting further training in clinic.

✨ **Coming Soon:** Nurse-led nutrition consults will be available more broadly following completion of these initial sessions!

📢 Holiday Closure Notice

Our clinic will be closed whilst our team takes a short holiday break from Thursday April 23rd to Tuesday April 28th, reopening on Wednesday April 29th with both Dr Derek and Dr Lana available in hospital.

During this time, our phone and emails will not be monitored, so we kindly ask that any non-urgent enquiries be left as a message or an email, and we will tend to all enquiries when we get back from our break.

✨️Patient (and Owner) Spotlight ✨️

Meet Dixie 💛...

At the beginning of the year, Dixie experienced a serious and unexpected freak accident that left her with multiple areas of significant tissue damage, including exposed bone on one of her feet.

In those early stages, the road ahead was uncertain. It was difficult to predict how her wounds would heal, and whether surgical intervention would be necessary.

What followed, however, has been nothing short of incredible and truly warms our hearts.

Dixie’s owners have shown unwavering love, commitment, and resilience throughout her recovery. From multiple bandage changes each day to diligent, around-the-clock home nursing care, their dedication has played an essential role in her healing journey.

Thanks to their tireless efforts—and a whole lot of love—Dixie’s wounds are progressing beautifully, exceeding expectations and continuing to improve every day.

Dixie is super sweet and gentle girl, who thanks her owners for food before eating, and will press against their legs if she wants a cuddle. Her trusting and sweet nature played a significant role in her owners being able to provide the level of home care that they have.

This is a truly special reminder that with the right guidance, consistency, and deeply dedicated owners, in-home nursing care can make an extraordinary difference in patient outcomes.

Please note that our team will be closed and unavailable from Good Friday April 3rd through to Easter Monday April 6th. We’ll reopen Tuesday 7th April, ready to help you again.

As you enjoy your Easter celebrations, remember to keep your furry friends safe! 🐶🐱 Chocolate, nuts, grapes, raisins, and anything with xylitol are toxic to pets—so make sure your Easter goodies stay out of reach.
