Clermont Veterinary Surgery

Last Christmas saw Dr Caroline tick over 10 years at Clermont Veterinary Surgery. She has been missing in action these last 4 weeks as she combined work, learning and long service leave with a trip to Europe to attend the ECEIM Congress at the University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. There may have been the cutest little hedgehog encounter at the University as well. We are looking forward to her being back in the clinic next week 😊

Today we celebrate International Vet Nurse Day. We are so thankful our support team for everything that they do for us and the challenges they face. They walk in the door each day to: Monitoring anesthesia and recovering patients, assisting in surgeries and performing lab work or X-rays, providing hands-on nursing care, medication, and comfort to hospitalized animals, supporting pet owners with empathy during stressful or emotional visits, and the list goes on. We would be lost without you ❤️

So important....

ℹ️ Information for horse owners 🐴

🩸 Why test for IgG in newborn foals? 🧪
Here Queensland YMG rep Dr Jessie Field tells us why ⬇️

Bright, happy and nursing… but did your foal get enough antibodies? 🐴🍼
Foals rely on colostrum for their early immune protection, but there’s only a short window for those important antibodies to be absorbed!
A simple IgG blood test can tell us whether your foal has received enough — and identify early if they might need a little extra support. 🩸💪
It’s also a great opportunity for your vet to give both foal and mum a check-up and make sure they’re off to the best possible start. 💙
Check out the infographic below to learn why timing matters! 👇
