Hi all you bird lovers!

On 1st December 2025 the licensing of all exotic birds was transferred from DBCA to DPIRD. Under DPIRD’s new system several changes have been made which will have a direct impact on anyone keeping,acquiring and disposing of non Native Australian birds.

We have attempted to advise DPIRD of the ramifications of their new requirements and believe it is important for them to get input from the wider avicultural community.

Both major bird clubs are aware of the situation and have invited a representative from DPIRD to attend a meeting to discuss these new changes and their consequential impact.

Below is a notice from The Avicultural Society of WA and the Finch Society of Western Australia inviting everyone with an interest in these new changes to attend this meeting. We would strongly urge as many people as possible to be there and be heard.

These little guys have been bred by us and two of them are presold and we are sure they will be going to homes where they will be loved forever.

Hi folks,
Here’s an update on some of our baby Blue and Gold Macaws that are being hand reared at present.
These little guys weigh between 850g and 950g each and enjoy their 3 times daily feed of 100mls.

Happy New Year to all of you and with the New Year we have new beginnings.!🐣

Roger and Sofia (one of our pairs of Blue and Gold Macaws) have decided to breed and laid four fertile eggs - all of which hatched!
The fourth egg as seen in the first pic hatched much later than the other 3 and to ensure its survival was taken for hand rearing.

This little guy is now thriving as can be seen in pic 2. - a few sleepless nights and happy days ahead.😀
