Helping Performance Horses Move, Feel & Perform at Their Best.

Hi, I’m Katie from Hawkins Equine Bodywork.

I provide hands-on muscle mobilisation and skeletal alignments for horses & I am currently taking new clients.

Performance horses are elite athletes. Keeping them comfortable, supple, balanced and moving freely helps them perform at their full potential, recover more effectively and stay happier in their work.

I regularly work with:
• Racehorses
• Eventers
• Show Jumpers
• Vaulting Horses
• Reining Horses
• Campdraft Horses
• Cutting Horses
• Feedlot & Mustering Horses

📍 Mobile service based in Allora, QLD
Regular service areas:
• Allora, Warwick & Killarney
• Gatton, Ipswich & Beaudesert
• Toowoomba & Dalby
• Stanthorpe through to Tamworth
• Esk, Kilcoy, Caboolture, Sunshine Coast & Gympie

Are you outside my regular service areas but have a horse you’d like seen? Get in touch—I’m happy to provide a travel quote where availability allows.

If you’d like to keep your horse moving comfortably and performing at their best, send me a message to discuss how I can help.

It’s no secret I LOVE what I do, and I’m passionate about helping horses feel and perform their best through supple muscles and balanced bodies.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a horse soften, relax and move more freely during a session.

But some of the most rewarding moments come afterwards...

* The message from an owner whose horse is finally carrying through its back.

* The horse that feels softer in the bridle.

* The horse that’s moving more freely than it was before.

* The horse who’s started winning again, or whose test scores improve.

* The horse who’s happy to be saddled again.

Thank you to every client who trusts me with their horses and takes the time to share their feedback. It never gets old.

🧡 Katie

"THE HORSES STAY BEHIND"
In days to come we'll wander west and cross the range again;
We'll hear the bush birds singing in the green trees after rain;
We'll canter through the Mitchell grass and breast the bracing wind:
But we'll have other horses. Our chargers stay behind.
Around the fire at night we'll yarn about old Sinai;
We'll fight our battles o'er again; and as the days go by
There'll be old mates to greet us. The bush girls will be kind,
Still our thoughts will often wander to the horses left behind.
I don't think l could stand the thought of my fancy hack
Just crawling 'round old Cairo with a 'Gyppo on his back.
Perhaps some English tourist out in Palestine, may find
My broken hearted Waler with a wooden plough behind.
NO; I think l'd better shoot him and tell a little lie:
"He floundered in a wombat hole and then lay down to die."
Maybe l'll get court-martialled; but l'm damned if l'm inclined
To go back to Australia and leave my horse behind.

This ANZAC Day, we remember the horses, who also made the ultimate sacrifice.
Lest We Forget 🌺🙏

ANZAC Day
I was going to wish you a happy one, and I hope it is. But more than that, I want to wish you a blessed, grateful, proud and free one - because that’s the point.

ANZAC Day is not about division, and it’s not a glorification of war. It’s about coming together as a nation in camaraderie and gratitude to remember. It’s a celebration of freedom, ingenuity, grit, and mate-ship. It’s a commemoration of sacrifice, a day to remember that the freedoms we too often take for granted aren’t free.

May we stand proud together to keep alive the ANZAC spirit and the sense of community that this day represents.

Lest we forget! 🇦🇺

Ever get on your horse and think something’s just not quite right?

Maybe they feel a little stiff, not as calm as usual. They turn away or make a face when you go to saddle or mount.
Short-stepping, uneven gait, head tossing, reluctance to move forward or faster, struggling to pick up the correct lead…

These little changes matter.

The earlier we notice them, the sooner we can pick up on what’s really going on. Most of the time, these behaviours are your horse trying to say, “I’m uncomfortable.” But often we brush it off as them being “naughty” and ignore those subtle requests for help — until their pain gets so bad they have to act out loud enough for us to listen… or they simply break down.

Horses rarely act out for no reason. They always try the polite hints first — the stiffness, the tension, the resistance — long before they resort to the bigger behaviours we label as “bad.”

Catching those early whispers means fewer problems, quicker results… and far fewer moments of wondering if you’re the one facing the wrong direction. 😆

When your horses start calling Santa to complain about their tight backs… you know it’s time for a bodywork session 🤣🎅🐴

Regularly bodywork is essential for keeping your horses moving and performing at their best!
