Miss Hannah -
I have been massaging Hannah since March this year.
She went to her local vet clinic for on and off lameness in her front left leg, check was done with no obvious skeletal injuries. Vet noticed soft tissue tightness and atrophy.
We started massaging straight away with a couple of fortnightly massages where I already felt improvement and owners saw improvement. We then started to increase to monthly sessions.
Since working with Hannah and her owners we have only seen one set back. She is now one happy jumpy dachshund.

Tis almost the season when we start buying Christmas treats for our dogs🎄🎁🦴
PLEASE leave the dangerous rawhide treats in the shop (they're chemically treated to remove hair and fat). When buying your pooch's gifts for Christmas always be aware and check the ingredients and sourcing!

This beautiful baby ridgeback girl got herself into a little bit of a pickle, and unfortunately did some soft tissue damage to her hind right quarter.
This caused her to lose confidence in her stride and a massive amount of muscle atrophy(loss), due to her not using her leg at all. As she is so young her growth development decreased, as a big breed this is very concerning.
First treatment told me she was tight all over and massively compensating as she would not even put her paw to the ground. After her first treatment she was already starting to drop her paw to the ground.
Her owner then went home with exercises for her that helped her immensely.
She then had two more treatments with me and continues to improve!

Another massage for mufasa - we have been working hard on his muscle growth. So with a combination of stretching and regular massages, this will help him grow stronger faster, improve recovery and decrease risk of injury and soreness.

🐕‍🦺🐕‍🦺
S1• Go outside and put the back of your
hand on the pavement.
S2• Keep the back of your hand on the
pavement and count 5 seconds.

If you can’t hold your hand for 5 seconds it is to hot to walk your dogs.
Always be mindful of how your dog is coping on hot days, and always make sure that they have fresh clean water available. You can always include ice blocks into the water bowl.

Class Bright - Percy T2
A delayed post for this one.
Percy‘s second treatment overall he was pretty good, he still had some tightness through his neck and top line, but his top line has improved since the first massage, as it became a lot warmer a lot faster but still have some concerns on how the muscle is feeling but is improving. Percy also is suffering from a cold spot about 3/4 of the way down from his semi tenderness (hamstring).
Overall Percy is moving really well and trainer has upped his training since this massage he did go on to do a really nice trial and move into a race where he came 10th, then went back to training went for another trial and placed fourth in his recent race on the 28/12/20.
Everything takes time but this horse is improving immensely.
It’s all about time, persistence and patience.

Class Bright - Percy
A new member to a local racing stable in Miners Rest, giving me the opportunity to work on their newest addition.
Purchased from the Inglis digital online sale, he came to the stable lacking muscle and very flat. As the trainer looked over him he noticed that he was sore through the back and would cow kick when you got to his hind quarters. Percy also had the classic signs of shrinking when you would go to put his rugs on and hunch when pressure was put on.
This is very understandable as his top line was very hard to warm up, meaning lack of blood flow through his Latissimus Dorsi(read my other post for more information on this muscle), this is signs of cold back. Muscle did warm after time.
He is now in very light work with a much needed warm up before he is ridden and when the rider gets on.
Massages every week for this boy at this stage.

Evie just saying hi to brighten up your Monday.
Ft my unmade bed.

With this crazy weather going on at the moment making sure our animals are kept warm on colds days and nights, cool on hot days and nights is important as it keeps the body at a comfortable temperature.
Making sure your animals always have lots of access to clean and fresh water, for dogs it’s a little easier but horses?
I add water to my horses feeds to make sure that they are getting some liquids and reduce any risk of dehydration while the weather is so up and down.

Lucy Mac - Racehorse
About a month ago a trainer had told me that he had some concern for one of his race horses named Lucy, she had a vet check and vets couldn’t find anything major that was a concern to why she was not performing the way she should be. I first noticed that Lucy was very short in her movement in the hindquarters, her action was lagging and not open and forward like it should be.
I then proceeded with my pre-massage, which is just a feel of the muscles before I start the massage, the first thing I noticed was that on her opposite side (off side) she was completely tight all over and throughout her whole top line and hindquarters which would explain her loss of range of movement through her hindquarters.
Lucy had only two treatments with me and throughout both massages I felt a massive improvement throughout her body.
Now look at her winning her trial on the 5th of August.
Where her last three starts she couldn’t keep her speed and would drop off by the end of the race.
Very happy with how this girl is coming along, hope to see her keep improving.
A massive thank you to her trainer for letting me work with her.
