๐พ Tick Alert ๐พ
Ticks are very much out and about right now. Have found 2 ticks today!
Signs of tick paralysis in dogs and cats:
๐ธ Change in bark or meow
๐ธ Weak or wobbly back legs
๐ธ Coughing, gagging or vomiting
๐ธ Drooling or trouble swallowing
๐ธ Facial droop (lip, eyelid or ear)
Even just one of these is enough to act on, don't wait to see if more show up. You should call your local vet or emergency clinic. Signs of tick paralysis can worsen even after the tick is removed!
A few tips:
โ
Check your pet daily, especially front end (that's where most ticks are found) - incl inside ears, lips, etc . Use your fingers to feel for small lumps rather than just looking.
โ
If you find one, remove it straight away with a tick remover or tweezers and keep looking for more. Keep the tick so your vet can identify it if needed.
