Swipe to see some amazing before and after shots of some patients who underwent their dental recently.

Annual dentistry is so important so our vets can completely assess the whole mouth thoroughly. This is done under general anaesthetic by taking dental x-rays of their whole mouth and probing under the gumline. The dental is then finished off with a professional descale and polish to leave their teeth squeaky clean and smelling fresh🦷✨

Lilies while a beautiful flower are extremely toxic to our feline friends. Even just a small amount of the plant is enough to send your fur baby in acute renal failure and can be fatal.

Prevention is best as there is no cure, so ensuring your cat doesn’t come into contact with any part of a Lily is crucial.

If you have cats, please educate your loved ones to not give you lilies as a gift, your cat will thank you for it. In the off chance you do receive some, dispose of them before coming home and wash your clothes and hands immediately.

Symptoms to look out for include:
-Lethargy
-Loss of appetite
-Vomiting
-Excessive drooling
-Increased thirst

If you are suspicious that your cat has ingested any part of a lily plant, seek veterinary attention immediately even if they're not showing symptoms.

Many human foods can be dangerous for our pets so knowing what to avoid feeding them will keep them safe and happy.

Foods to avoid include:

-Chocolate
-Grapes and raisins
-Xylitol - this ingredient is commonly found in gum and other lollies
-Macadamia nuts
-Garlic and onion
-Yeast and raw dough

If you pet has ingested anything harmful or you think may be, it is best to give us a call as soon as possible, note down the time it was ingested and how much, photos of the packaging and ingredients are also very helpful to determine the best course for treatment.
