Starting now on selected Fridays, Aussie Claws will be offering professional grooming services right here at Orchid Valley Veterinary Surgery by appointment.

Many of our wonderful clients have told us how difficult it can be to juggle vet visits, grooming appointments and busy family schedules. We have been listening, and we’re thrilled to bring you a more convenient option for your furry family members.

Our goal is to become your one stop fur baby shop, providing exceptional veterinary care alongside trusted grooming services all in the one location.

🧵🐾 A reel “cat-astrophe”… narrowly avoided! 🐱

Lunchtime emergency yesterday at Orchid Valley vets when this purr-fectly majestic Maine C**n Mouse decided to “needlessly” snack on a wool sewing needle… things got a “little pointed” 🪡 😬

But never fear – thanks to some seriously “sharp” thinking, Dr Tess, Nurse Katie and our newest team member Nurse Karli stitched together a plan in no time. Under anaesthetic, we took X rays which confirmed there was a needle where it definitely didn’t belong!

The needle had already disappeared from the mouth but with some swift surgical skills and a steady hand, the needle was retrieved from the neck before it could migrate further and cause any more damage!

This brave fluffball is now on the mend and doing “sew” well 💕

✨ Moral of the story: curiosity didn’t kill the cat… but it definitely keeps vets on their toes!

🐰 Special Patient in for a Check up Today at Orchid Valley Vets 🤩 Dr Macauley gave the Easter Bunny a clean bill of health with the Pre-Flight Check complete and cleared for take off this Saturday night! 🐣 🤣 Huge thanks to the awesome Cannonvale State School P&C for making this clip possible 🙌🫶

🐰🌸 Easter fun at Orchid Valley Veterinary Surgery! 🌸🐰

Our team has been getting into the Easter spirit, rocking some fun scrubs and bunny ears today 🐣💛 Safe to say the clinic is looking a little cuter than usual!

We will be closed over the Easter long weekend (3/4/26 to 6/4/26) to give our team a well earned break.

Dr Tess reunited with Big Ted more than 13 years later! Anyone who know Tess knows she is an absolute sucker for a Blenheim Cavie (having her own called Isobel Grace) and she first fell in love with Big Ted when she vaccinated him as a pup in September 2012 when she was doing a locum for Dr Mark. It was lovely to see what a grand old gentleman he had become 😍 🐶 🫶
