🌾🐶 Tiny grass seeds, BIG problems! ⚠️

Poor Daffy had an unexpected trip to the vet today!

One minute she was fine, the next she was frantically shaking her head and in so much pain she couldn't bear having her ear touched. 😢

The culprit? A tiny grass seed lodged in her ear! 🌾

Grass seeds can become embedded in ears, paws, eyes and skin, causing pain, infections and sometimes requiring surgery.

🐾 Keep an eye out for:
🌾 Head shaking or ear scratching
🌾 Excessive paw licking or limping
🌾 Swelling or irritated eyes

Check your dog after walks, especially around their ears and paws.

⚠️ Suspect an embedded grass seed? Don't wait — see your vet!

☀️🦎 The weather is warming up… and the reptiles are on the move! 🐍

Our scaly neighbours are out enjoying the sunshine, so keep an eye out when walking your dogs! 🐾

🐍 Keep dogs on lead in snake-prone areas.
🦎 Don't let dogs chase or investigate reptiles.
🌿 Watch out around long grass, rocks and bushland.

Remember, reptiles are just going about their day too! 💚

⚠️ If you suspect a snake bite, seek emergency veterinary care immediately.

🐶 Do you know what your dog was originally bred for?

Daffy is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel — a breed developed primarily as a companion and lap dog. 👑🐾

So basically… Daffy’s ancestors had the very important job of hanging out with people and being adorable. 😂

And honestly, she takes her heritage VERY seriously.

Andy and Maggie know the SECOND I wake up — before I’ve even got out of bed — so they can immediately start asking for breakfast. 😂 Apparently pretending I’m still asleep fools no one!

🐾You know that moment when you’re trying to get something done… and your pet decides, “Don’t worry, I’ll help!”

And by help, they mean make the entire job 10x harder. 🤣

Making the bed? They’re on it.
Gardening? Expert supervision required.
Working from home? Obviously you need an assistant.
Unpacking the groceries? Quality control.
Cleaning? Perfect time to investigate EVERYTHING.

Surely we’re not the only ones with these very dedicated little “helpers”?!

This is absolutely heartbreaking. 💔

Jess The Mindful Canine is someone I know personally and she is a genuinely lovely, caring person. What she, her family and their animals have been put through is horrific.

Sadly, two more of the injured sheep have now lost their lives, bringing the total to four. 💔

Someone knows something.

🐾 SPECIAL HOME NEEDED FOR CHARLIE 🐾

We’re looking for a very special person to provide intermittent care for Charlie, a 14-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, while his owner undergoes treatment for a terminal illness. ❤️

Charlie’s owner will need to spend time in hospital approximately every three months for treatment, so we’re hoping to find someone who can become a familiar, trusted person in Charlie’s life and care for him during these periods.

There is also the possibility that Charlie may need full-time care in the future, so ideally we’d love to find someone who could potentially offer this if the need arises.

🏡 Charlie’s ideal home:
• Someone retired or who works from home
• A quiet, calm household
• Someone who is home more often than not
• A single-dog household

Charlie is happy meeting other dogs while out on walks, but he has always been an only dog. At 14, we’d prefer not to ask him to adjust to sharing his home and would love for him to continue being the centre of someone’s world. 🥰

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone reliable, compassionate and willing to build a relationship with Charlie, so that when his owner needs to go into hospital, Charlie is staying with someone he already knows and trusts.
