🐾💙 Happy Father’s Day 💙🐾

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, grandfathers, father figures and dog dads in our ACTGSDA family.

Today we celebrate the men who show up, guide, protect, teach, support and love — both at home and out on the training field.

May your day be filled with family, laughter, muddy paws, wagging tails and plenty of German Shepherd cuddles. 🐶❤️

📢 ACTGSDA AGM UPDATE 🐾

The ACT German Shepherd Dog Association held its 63rd Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, 19 August at the ACTGSDA Clubhouse.

The AGM was a great opportunity to reflect on a positive year for the club, with strong Wednesday night training attendance, growth across our classes, more puppies joining through the support of our GSD breeders, and successful club activities including Sprint, Scent Work, Endurance and strong ACT representation at the 52nd GSDCA National Show & Trial.

A huge thank you to our outgoing committee, instructors, volunteers and members for helping continue to rebuild momentum, grow member engagement and strengthen ACTGSDA as a welcoming, community-focused club.

We are pleased to congratulate our new ACTGSDA Committee:

📢 AGM REMINDER – TONIGHT 📢

A reminder that the ACT German Shepherd Dog Association Inc. Annual General Meeting will be held tonight at the ACTGSDA Clubhouse.

All members are welcome and encouraged to attend and be part of the meeting.

Wednesday night training will continue as usual, with all classes commencing from 6:30pm.

📢 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS – 2026 ACTGSDA COMMITTEE 📢

Following the notice of the 2026 Annual General Meeting, ACT German Shepherd Dog Association Inc. is now calling for nominations for positions on the ACTGSDA Committee.

This is an important opportunity for financial members to contribute to the future direction, management and ongoing success of the club.

Nominations are now open for the following positions:

Office Bearers:
• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer
• Assistant Secretary/Treasurer

Committee Members:
• 6 Committee Members

Members are encouraged to consider nominating, or nominating another suitable financial member, who is willing to contribute their time, ideas and support to the club.

Please note:
• The nominator, seconder and nominee must all be financial members of ACTGSDA Inc.
• All successful nominees must also be financial members of the ACT Canine Association.
• Completed nomination forms must be received by the Secretary by 5:00pm on Wednesday, 12 August 2026.

🐾 Wednesday Night Training Reminder 🐾

During the cooler months, all Wednesday night training classes will commence from 6:30pm at the ACTGSDA grounds.

Classes include:
🐶 Puppy School
🐾 Beginners
🐕 Intermediate
🎓 Graduate
🏅 Novice

We look forward to seeing all our members and dogs out on the grounds for another great night of training, learning, and fun.

If you have been thinking about joining us, feel free to come down and have a chat!

🌧️ TRAINING CANCELLED – WEDNESDAY 1 JULY 🌧️

Due to the wet weather and current condition of the grounds, training tonight has been cancelled.

The safety of our members and dogs always comes first, and unfortunately the grounds are not suitable for training this evening.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on the field next week. 🐾

🐾🎉 DOGS ACT Endurance Test 2026 – Done and Dusted! 🎉🐾

What a fantastic day for the Dogs ACT 2026 Endurance Test held at the ACT German Shepherd Dog Association, proudly supported by the dog community and another great event now completed for the year!

With 16 entries, the day saw plenty of dedication, teamwork, and determination from handlers and dogs. The weather held off just long enough, giving everyone a great opportunity to get out there and enjoy the challenge.

A special congratulations to the German Shepherd entered on the day:

“Theory” achieved a pass and can now proudly add ET to her name!

We also extend a very special congratulations to Julie Rebbeck, who was awarded the Jenny Kenworthy Memorial Award — a wonderful recognition and achievement. 👏

Events like this are a great reminder of what our dog community is all about — commitment, teamwork, encouragement, and getting out there with our dogs.
