The Foreshore Vet Conference 2026 - A Saturday well spent learning, collaborating and drinking plenty of coffee! ☕️

Our Foreshore Vet team headed to Animal Referral Hospital Canberra on Saturday for a day of professional development, bringing our vets and nurses together to learn from some incredible specialists. ❤️

We’re pretty lucky to have a team that genuinely enjoys learning, supporting each other and finding ways to do things better. 📚

Here’s a little look at what we got up to:

🐱 Dr Wye Li Chong explored perineal urethrostomies, a surgical procedure used to help cats with certain urinary conditions.

🦴 Dr Shin Ling shared knowledge on caring for pets with spinal injuries, including nursing care and rehabilitation.

💉 Dr Laura Downes discussed safe anaesthesia practices and how ECGs help us monitor a patient’s heart during anaesthesia.

🐾 Dr Isabelle Resch spoke about animal behaviour and ways we can make veterinary visits more comfortable for our patients.

A huge thank you to the team at Animal Referral Hospital Canberra and our wonderful speakers for sharing their time and expertise!

A little glimpse into life as a vet nurse at The Foreshore Vet! From the cuddles and chaos to the special bonds we build with our patients, there’s so much more to this job than meets the eye. 🐶

Being a vet nurse means putting so much heart into caring for every patient as if they were our own, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Today we’re celebrating the love, compassion and little things that make this job so special. 🤎

Amelia joins The Foreshore Vet as our receptionist and administrative Coordinator, providing day-to-day office and operational support. 👩🏼‍💻

With a background in disability and mental health support, Amelia is passionate about providing quality care to both people and animals. She’s always happy to lend a helping hand and is often the friendly face keeping everything ticking along behind the scenes.

Originally from Mudgee, Amelia moved to Canberra in early 2026 and brings with her 3 years of experience as a veterinary administrator.

She’s also a proud cat mum to Wanda and has a huge soft spot for rescue cats – especially her own foster fail, Wanda, who completely stole her heart. 🐈

The Foreshore Vet is excited to welcome Dr Rob to the team. 👨🏽‍⚕️

With 22 years of veterinary experience, Dr Rob is relocating from Albury to Canberra with his family and brings a wealth of knowledge to the clinic. He enjoys all aspects of general practice, with a special interest in pain management and acupuncture. 🫶🏻

The Foreshore Vet now offers dedicated pain management consultations with Dr Rob, using a multimodal approach tailored to pets living with chronic pain conditions. Treatment plans may include medications, weight management, mobility support, rehabilitation strategies, supplements, and acupuncture. 💉
