🤔 So what exactly does our Wedding Pet Assistant service include?

Put simply - we play your furry best friend's human best friend for the day! 💛

At your wedding, our role is to help ensure that your pet is happy and well looked after, so both you and them can enjoy a stress-free day! 🙌

Getting them safely to and from your venue, dressing them in their outfit, helping them pose for pics, and providing food, water and plenty of pats are all part of the package ✔️

But what about all those little extras?

Providing a quick groom to ensure they're looking dapper before their photoshoot? 🪮
Taking them for a walk to help burn some of their nervous energy? 🐕‍🦺
Deadlifting them up so your guests can give them sweet kisses without needing to bend over...? (Let's be real, this is 90% of what we do 😂)

Yep, we take care of aaaall that too, and a whole lot more!

Pawz & Me is still on the hunt for another animal loving human to join our little team of pet-obsessed legends 💛

The role:
• Casual position within a tight-knit team (paid in line with Award)
• Shifts vary in length
• You’ll be working with a range of domestic pets (yes, dogs AND cats… and everything in between)

This might be for you if:
• You’re 20+ with a valid Australian Driver’s Licence (Green P’s or above) and a clean driving record
• You genuinely love ALL animals (not just dogs… we will know 👀)
• You’ve got experience caring for pets (your own absolutely counts)
• You’re active, reliable, and don’t mind being outdoors in all weather
• You’re keen to learn more about dog behaviour
• You’re a team player who actually shows up and helps out
• You’re confident communicating with clients
• You can work independently without needing to be chased up
• You’re comfortable using your phone for work + posting to Instagram (including stories)
• You know your way around the Macarthur & Wollondilly area
• You’re available for weekends, school holidays, long weekends, and over Christmas & New Year (non-negotiable)

We’re based in Camden and are looking to hire locally.

As Winter approaches, ensuring your furry friends stay warm is crucial!

While breeds like Huskies and German Shepherds handle cold weather well, most dogs struggle in extreme cold, especially in Southern regions like Victoria and Tasmania (and yes, even here in cold Camden! 🥶).

During Winter, it's vital to keep a close eye on our dogs, especially during sudden cold snaps that could harm their health.

Watch out for symptoms such as lethargy, runny nose, watery eyes, shivering, and loss of appetite, similar to humans.

When your dog shows signs of feeling cold, bring them indoors or provide a warm kennel.

Dogs with long, shaggy coats are better equipped to handle the cold as their hair acts as insulation, whilst shorter-haired dogs may struggle more in colder temperatures.

At temperatures around 12-15 degrees Celsius, most dogs are likely to be safe. However, at 10 degrees, it's essential to monitor them closely, as it could be unsafe depending on factors like age, health, and breed.

Temperatures of seven degrees or lower pose a potential danger, and at four degrees, it becomes potentially life-threatening.

Here’s how you can ensure your dog stays safe and warm this Winter 👇

❄️ Avoid leaving dogs outdoors for prolonged periods in cold conditions.

❄️ Ensure your dog doesn’t sleep outdoors. Provide insulated dog houses or a warm spot indoors. Beds should be away from drafty areas, and extra bedding should be provided for warmth.

❄️ Elevate outdoor dog houses to prevent heat loss through the ground. If a dog house isn't available, create a warm spot in your garage or home.

❄️ Keep your dog's bed away from doors or windows that could expose them to cold drafts.

❄️ Provide additional bedding for warmth, such as extra straw or blankets.

❄️ Keep food readily available, as digesting food helps dogs stay warm. Consider increasing their food intake during colder months.
