Every day JoJo waits at the door when it's time for her walk to the park. She is so excited when she sees Oscar & so disappointed if he is not there. Of all the dogs she meets, he is her favourite.

When I meet these two Bernese gentle giants, never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would own one. Now with JoJo a minature Bernese (AustralianMountain dog) my life is full of dog fur, never ever being alone, even in the loo. Thr look of love and her trusting soulful eyes. The zoomies with 3 toys in her mouth. The fun things she finds to play with, shells, dog beds, anything that takes her fancy, plastic bottles, toys ripped apart, any thing she finds in the park. Sleeping or sitting on top of me, hiding on the dining chairs. Loving, playing, and seeing the best in every thing. She has taught me so much. The best of a Bernese outweighs the mischief & makes me appreciate life. If you are bringing a Bernese home, make sure you buy the best dog fur vacume available. 🐾🐾🐾🐾

Happy Days for me! Out of the moon-boot in walkers, no high heels for a while. Funny how once you have a moon-boot you look at everyones feet, hence the drawings. JoJo not so happy now, I can catch her when she is up to mischief. Best of all I can hold one of Jan's 🍸cocktails in the lift without spilling a drop. 😂

Things happen for a reason, I learnt to slow down, not stress when my daily list didn’t get done. A broken foot bone taught me to appreciate what I just took for-granted “Walking” 16 weeks in a moon boot, 8 weeks of non weight bearing, another 6 because I was too impatient to wait until it healed and caused the break to open up partially, At first I was depressed, then I decided I always complained I didn’t have enough time, so I took this time to do things I loved. reading, drawing, listening to podcast, learning something new every day. The biggest learning curve was having to rely on others to help me do simple things. Thank you to great friends Jan, Lyn & and Craig a neighbour for walking the dog. My Craig for having to do all the things I couldn’t. The sentence: could you do this for me! I’m back learning to walk bit always now remembering. Don’t TAKE THINGS FOR-GRANTED, MAKE THE MOST OF EVERY DAY.

Portrait of Ebony & Cheeky. “ Do you want to know a secret”
12 x 12 ins acrylic collage on canvas.
Portrait in loving memory of Ebony.
I didn’t know that Ebony had crossed the rainbow bridge when I started this painting. I was actually painting another portrait when I came across photos of Ebony & Cheeky. The painting “ Do you want to know a Secret” grew in my mind and imagination, intuitively the scene just had to be painted.
Cheeky whispering a secret to Ebony…. my feeling was to capture the love and warmth that surrounded them, the floral rug collage made from a summer-coloured serviette, is draped over the seat, the vase of sunflowers adds a touch of the happiness I felt when I first meet Wendy, Ebony & Cheeky at Scarborough Caravan Park.

The travelling trio arrived in this large motor home and were given the site next to us. I asked if Wendy needed help reversing into the tight spot. They needed no help, Cheeky sat on Wendy’s shoulder and Ebony in the passengers seat directing.
We became forever friends, have caught up in Woolgoolga and keep in touch. This painting of Ebby was painted from my heart with love as I know the sadness of losing such a special companion.
What do you think Cheeky was whispering to Ebony? Would love to have your comments.
