It is so important to have your pets on reliable tick prevention, especially in FNQ!

This week alone we've had a huge spike in patients presenting with Tick Paralysis โš ๏ธ
In Far North Queensland, ticks don't mess around, and missing a monthly dose by even a few days can be the difference between a healthy pet and a life threatening emergency.

Please see this as a reminder to check whether your pets are up-to-date with their preventatives. If you're not sure, you can book in for an annual tick and flea injection, or stock up on their regular chews or spot on!

SYMPTOMS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
- Weakness/wobbling - particularly in the hind legs
- Vomiting or gagging/retching
- Excessive drooling
- Laboured breathing
- Changes in bark or meow
- Increased breath sounds

๐Ÿ“ข If your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms or you're just not sure, call or head straight down to your nearest clinic!

Prevention is always better (& cheaper) than treatment! ๐Ÿ’ฏ

Does everyone remember Beau? ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅน

This beautiful boy underwent several challenging months of chemotherapy earlier this year, and he was an absolute trooper throughout! ๐Ÿ’ช

While he experienced some tough moments, and understandably grew a little impatient with his many visits to see us, he is now two months on from his final treatment and feeling fantastic! ๐ŸŽ‰

Aside from his regular check-ups to make sure everything is going well, Beau is in tip-top shape and spending every day living life to the fullest with his gorgeous sister, Bella. ๐Ÿ˜

We definitely miss seeing his sweet face every week, but the regular updates from his mum, Rachel, featuring his beautiful smile, are the next best thing ๐Ÿซถ

She is microchipped, but the chip is not registered.

๐Ÿ‘‘ BEAU IS OFFICIALLY DONE! ๐Ÿ‘‘

Yesterday was a special day at the clinic as we celebrated a very big milestone: Beau the Border Collieโ€™s final chemotherapy treatment! ๐ŸŽ‰

Beau has been battling lymphoma with the kind of grace and spirit that only a Border Collie can. From day one, he has impressed us all with his incredible patience and gentle nature. Even on the long days, he walked through our doors with a wagging tail, ready to face whatever came his way. Beau, we are so incredibly proud of how far youโ€™ve come! ๐Ÿซถ

Of course, Beau didnโ€™t do this alone. We want to give a massive shout-out to his wonderful parents, Rachel and Greg. Your strength, determination, and unwavering commitment to Beauโ€™s health has been truly inspiring to witness. Itโ€™s clear how much he is loved, and that love has undoubtedly been his biggest driver throughout this journey ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–ค

A huge thank you to Rachel and Greg for the thoughtful thank you gifts as well! We are so appreciative of your kindness! We feel so lucky to have been part of Beauโ€™s support system ๐Ÿฅฐ

Luckily two of his favourites, nurse Caitlin and Dr Yuka were here to spend his last treatment day together, and of course sneaking in a quick photo shoot! ๐Ÿ“ธ
