✨🐾Happy Veterinary Nurse Day 2026! 🐾✨

Today we celebrate our veterinary nurses. These folk show strength, skill, and heart in action, every day.

Our vet nurses comfort nervous pets, reassure stressed humans, monitor surgeries, run lab tests and support our vets (as well as a million other things – too many to list!).

They pour their compassion into animal care and for that, we say THANK YOU.

🧪 If your pet needs an additional or specific lab test, there's a chance we can offer it right here in Cairns at Emergency Vets 24/7.

⛔ Not all vet clinics can offer a huge range of blood and urine testing.

🔎 We wanted to cram in as much as possible, so we went a little loco when we set up our lab.

🔬Nowadays, our lab is pretty impressive, including spare blood machines, just in case!

🫶 We also open our lab up to our colleagues in primary care clinics throughout the region.

❓What does this mean?

👉 If your primary care vet needs to run a very specific test, we might be able to help.

😊 All your vet needs to do is get in touch with our hospital and submit the sample.

📨 We can get the results back to them much quicker that freighting samples to a lab in a capital city.

💟 Faster test > faster results > better veterinary care for your pet.

Tests include ProBNP, fructosamine, coagulation factors, cortisol, ionised calcium, serum amyloid A, Ehrlichiosis and Leptospirosis testing and lots lots more....
