🐾 Is there an alternative to surgical desexing for male dogs?

At our clinic, we offer an implant as a non-surgical option that temporarily reduces testosterone levels and fertility in male dogs.

For the past 18 months, we’ve been involved in a canine reproductive behaviour project, helping us better understand the effects of temporary reproductive control and provide informed advice to our clients.

Lui recently trialled the Suprelorin implant and did very well. The implant is placed under the skin using a needle similar to a microchip.

This option may be suitable for:
✔ Dogs where surgery is not recommended
✔ Owners wanting a temporary trial before permanent desexing
✔ Short-term breeding control
✔ Behavioural assessments related to testosterone levels
