More than exercise
We often talk about how much exercise a dog needs.
But what about everything else?
A dog's wellbeing isn't measured only by how many kilometres they've walked or how tired they are at the end of the day.
Dogs also need:
πΎ Time to sniff and explore
π΄ Plenty of rest
π§ Mental stimulation
π Connection
π‘ A safe and comfortable environment
πΏ Opportunities to simply be themselves
Sometimes a slow sniff around the garden is more valuable than another lap around the block. Sometimes a quiet afternoon sleeping in the sun is exactly what a dog needs.
I'm a big believer in looking at the whole dog, rather than focusing on just one part of their wellbeing. And honestly, the greyhounds who stay here are very good teachers of that lesson. ππΎ
