Been quoted a huge range for your pet's dental?

You're not alone.

One of the most common things we hear is:
"My vet said my pet needs a dental, but I have no idea what it's actually going to cost."

At Burpengary Family Vets, we believe Veterinary care should be transparent, easy to understand, and free from nasty surprises.

That's why we've introduced our simple staged dental pricing:

Package 1 - Dental Scale & Polish – $499
- Ideal for pets needing a professional clean and assessment.
- Dental radiographs can be done at the same time for an additional cost.

Package 2 - Advanced Dental Procedure – $1575
- Designed for pets needing extractions and more advanced dental treatment, with many of the common additional costs already included.

Dental disease is more than bad breath.
Left untreated, dental disease can be painful and may contribute to health issues affecting the heart, kidneys and liver.

🔎🐾 OUR LUMP PROMO IS BACK THIS SEPTEMBER!

Has your dog or cat developed a new lump or bump? Or perhaps there’s one that’s been there for a while that you’ve been meaning to have checked?

Throughout September, we’re offering FREE lump cytology with any consultation or vaccination! 🩺

Lumps can have many different causes, and you can’t always tell what they are simply by looking or feeling them. Cytology involves taking a small sample of cells from the lump, which can then be examined to help determine what it may be and whether further investigation or treatment is recommended.

Cases like Bella’s are exactly why we encourage pet owners not to ignore lumps and bumps. Sometimes they are simple fatty lumps or benign growths, but other times they may require treatment. Early detection gives us the best chance to diagnose, treat, and achieve the best possible outcome for your pet.

So, while your pet is in for their consultation or routine vaccination, it’s the perfect opportunity to have that lump checked too — at no additional charge for the cytology. 💚

🦷 Did you know?

Around 80% of dogs and 70% of cats will experience some level of dental disease by just 3 years of age! 🐶🐱

And dental disease isn't always obvious. Bad breath, tartar build-up, red gums or changes in the way your pet eats can all be signs that something is going on below the surface.

Regular dental checks can help us identify problems early — before they become painful or require more extensive treatment.

When was the last time your pet had their teeth checked? 🦷

🕷️ PARALYSIS TICKS – IS YOUR PET PROTECTED? 🐾

Living in Queensland means paralysis ticks are a very real risk for our pets — and tick paralysis can become life-threatening very quickly.

We have recently seen an increase in paralysis tick patients through our doors. While we often think of ticks as a spring and summer problem, paralysis tick cases can occur all year round, with research showing September and October are peak months in South-East Queensland.

We recommend:
🐾 Keeping your pet up to date with an effective paralysis tick preventative
🐾 Checking your pet regularly for ticks — even when they’re protected
🐾 Paying particular attention to the head, neck and ears, where paralysis ticks are commonly found
🐾 Knowing the warning signs and acting quickly if something isn't right

Signs of tick paralysis can include:
• Wobbliness or weakness, particularly in the back legs
• A change in bark or meow
• Gagging, retching, coughing or vomiting
• Difficulty swallowing
• Changes in breathing
• Lethargy or collapse

📅 Not sure when your pet’s tick prevention is due? Give our friendly team a call or pop into the clinic to discuss what options may be best suited to you and your pets.

Interested in a once-a-year injection? Give the team a call or book online 👉 https://pawsapp.com.au/ba?cid=6196

📞 (07) 2004 0100

⚠️ If you find a paralysis tick or notice any signs of tick paralysis, please contact a veterinarian immediately. Early veterinary treatment can make a significant difference.

Don’t wait until you find a tick — prevention starts now. 🐶🐱
