This is one of the hardest posts to write!

After years of running Alana’s Snake Catching, the time has come to close the business. This has been such a rewarding journey. I’ve met so many amazing people, helped keep homes, families, and pets safe, and learned so much along the way.

I want to sincerely thank every client who trusted me with their snake encounters. Your support, kindness, and referrals have meant the world, and I feel so lucky to have been able to do this work in our community.

While it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to this chapter, I will always cherish the memories and the incredible people I’ve met through this business. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this journey.

Sally decided to take refuge in a washing machine. Sally also decided to get to a spot that was completely un-reachable. It took 2 catchers 2 days with hours of negotiations to convince her to come out.

The answer to yesterday's post is a Yellow Faced whip snake 🐍.

This snake was called in as a baby eastern brown in Burpengary. I had previously caught a jet black eastern brown from the property, so I initially thought there must be eggs. I was very excited to see this little face looking up at me 😍.

Look at its little face!! 😭😍

This Yellow Faced Whip Snake (mildly venomous) was relocated from a school. They are quick little snakes but a staff member managed to contain it under a bin.
As helpful as it was in this situation, containing the snake is so dangerous for everyone involved. You risk crushing the snake, copping a bite or us copping a bite when we have to get it out from under the bin and into a bag.
All went well with this one though, perfectly healthy and back out in the bush.

This job was chaos!

I received a call from a regular customer that had 3 Pythons in their stable and chicken coop. For those that have not seen me catch a snake from a bird aviary or chicken coop, I am terrified of birds. After catching the first python I had a rooster not so nicely tell me to leave 🤣
Unfortunately I was backed into a corner and still had a job to do. The customer saved me and I went on to catch the second. I get to the third python that had a belly full of food and apparently it need more 🤦‍♀️
I removed the python and bagged it. While I was talking to the customer before leaving, the rooster decided I needed to hurry up and chased me out again 🤣
All snakes were removed safely.

This is not a job I will forget any time soon 🐍
