Could you see yourself building a career in working dog training?
Shimmy Downs Kelpies is growing, and we’re starting to think about what the next stage of our training team might look like.
We’d love to hear from people who have a genuine interest in working dogs and would consider developing their skills with a view to a career in working dog training.

For us, finding the right person is by far most important.
Experience with working breeds would certainly be an advantage, but it isn’t necessarily a requirement. We’re just as interested in finding someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine desire to understand working dogs.
We’d love to hear from someone who is keen to learn, comfortable around dogs and livestock, happy to get their hands dirty and genuinely interested in understanding how working dogs think, learn and work.

There is the potential for the right person to spend time working alongside the SDK team, gaining hands-on experience and learning our approach to working dog training.

This is an expression of interest rather than a formal job advertisement. We’re starting the conversation now because we’d much rather take our time finding the right person than simply fill a role.

If working dogs are something you’re genuinely passionate about and you could see yourself making a career out of it, we’d love to hear from you.
Send the SDK page a private message and tell us a little about yourself, any experience you have with dogs, particularly working breeds, or livestock, and why this is something you’d like to pursue.
