“I just wanted to send in my thank you to the entire team at MFTC for treating my cat, Maisy...
He had his 6 week follow up blood test, and his levels are back to normal! (I think his T4 was at 26).

Thank you for making the entire treatment process as minimally stressful as it could be and for taking such good care of Maisy during his stay.

I am so grateful that the treatment worked and Maisy’s quality of life has been restored, for what I hope are many more years to come.

Thank you again!

“Vilim’s behaviour has changed since his treatment… he’s definitely much more relaxed, composed, not irritated and not asking for food all the time. …not waking up in the middle of the night looking to get fed.
T4 is looking great, also his renal and hepatic markers have gone down too. He’s put some weight on as well. Overall, we’re really happy with the outcome of his treatment. I will keep recommending you to my clients.”

-Dr Srdan from Chelsea Vet Clinic, and Vilim’s owner.

🔹 Ember was referred for radioactive iodine treatment after developing severe facial pruritus from his daily anti-thyroid medication- 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨.⁣
🔹 18-44% of cats may experience side effects from medications (carbimazole or methimazole) used to control hyperthyroidism.⁣
🔹 Most side effects occur within the first 4-6 weeks of treatment. ⁣
🔹 Side effects include depression, inappetence, vomiting, and self-induced excoriations of the head and neck (facial pruritus). More serious adverse reactions may include hematologic complications (severe leukopenia, anemia, and thrombocytopenia) and liver toxicity.⁣
🔹 Discontinuation of medication is generally required if side effects develop.⁣
🩷 Ember’s facial pruritus is resolving after stopping his thyroid medication, and he has been discharged following I-131 treatment. We wish him all the best.

“Dear Dr Andrew & Dr Jonathan,

I hope you are both well. I just wanted to let you know that our little mate Cosmo, who was treated for hyperthyroidism is doing so well since you treated him.

His chilled out personality has returned and his body feels solid and healthy. His coat is a shiny, soft, thick mane.

We can’t thank you enough for the world of difference the Radioactive Iodine treatment has made.

Attached are some photos of him living his best life...
Many heartfelt thanks,
Cara, Scott and Cosmo”
