Do we think this is a good strategy for making sure our staff stay on top of the barking? 😂
Jokes aside, we get asked this a LOT:
🐶 “How do you deal with the noise?”
🐶 “Doesn’t that drive you mad all day?”
🐶 “Will my dog come home barking more than they did?”
The truth? Our daycare environment is actually much quieter than you might think. For most of the day, the dogs are happily doing their thing without constant barking. Our team actively redirects dogs when barking starts to become excessive, and our trainers step in when we need to use more specific strategies to manage it.
There will be some barking — and that's normal. 👇
🚪 Dogs arriving and leaving can cause a little excitement.
👷 A strange person walking into the building (usually a tradesperson!) can get everyone’s attention.
🐕 Dogs may bark occasionally during play as part of how they communicate.
But excessive or ongoing barking? That's something we don't just ignore. Our team works to identify why the barking is happening and uses appropriate strategies to bring the environment back down.
And if our staff didn't stay on top of it…
Well… apparently squats are the next step. 😂
10 barks = 10 squats.
20 barks = leg day.
50 barks = we’re all in trouble. 🫠
