Unfortunately, after many years of absorbing these costs myself, I’ve had to introduce a few new policies and fees.

This morning, it was just 0.5°C, and Karen arrived at 6:30am to be ready for a 7:00am appointment. Unfortunately, that client didn’t show up. As the first appointment of the day, there wasn’t another dog ready for her to groom, meaning valuable time and wages were lost.

What makes it even more disappointing is that this appointment could have been offered to another client who has been patiently waiting for an opening. Instead, that time was wasted, and another pet that may be in need missed the opportunity to be groomed.

As a small business, these situations have a real financial impact. The new policies aren’t intended to punish anyone—they’re simply there to help cover some of the costs when appointments are missed, clients arrive late, or pets aren’t collected on time.

We completely understand that life happens. If you need to cancel, reschedule or you’re running late, please let us know as soon as possible. Good communication means we can often work something out.
