Somewhere, a family gets more time with their pet because another family brought theirs in to donate. ❤️
Our blood donor programme brings together dogs, cats, their families and our hospital teams to help pets who need a blood transfusion.

We’re looking for more dogs and cats to join our blood donor programme at QVS and Pet Emergency, supporting our teams as they care for pets who need lifesaving transfusions.

Could yours be a little hero?
🩸 Dogs must weigh more than 23kg
🩸 Cats must weigh more than 5kg
🩸 Both must be aged 1 to 8 years

These are just some of the requirements. Our team will assess each potential donor and guide you through the screening process.
Donors receive a free screening health check, including bloodwork and infectious disease testing, a year’s supply of parasite prevention and a thank you present.

To our wonderful donors and their families, thank you for helping us care for someone else’s much-loved companion.

Happy Vet Nurse & Technologist Day to our wonderful teams at Stafford, North Lakes and Sunshine Coast! 🎉

We get to work alongside these incredible people every day, and today we’re sharing a little of what you don’t always get to see when your pet is in hospital.

Their knowledge and attention to detail help guide our patients safely through procedures, emergencies and recovery. They notice the little changes, speak up for their patients and work closely with our vets to make sure every detail matters.

They really get to know your pet too, whether it’s finding their favourite scratch spot, knowing how they like their blankets and whether dinner needs a little gentle persuasion. There’s always time for another head kiss or belly rub, even on the busy shifts. ❤️‍🩹

To our nurses and technologists, thank you for the skill, kindness and humour you bring to our hospitals. For looking after one another, making the hard days a little lighter and caring so deeply for the animals our community trusts us with.

We're lucky to work beside you. 🤍

That’s a wrap on our Annual QVS Brisbane Conference! 🎉

To every primary care vet, vet nurse, veterinary technologist and colleague who joined us last Sunday, thank you. We know weekends are precious, and choosing to spend yours learning, gaining CPD points and investing in your career means so much to us.

Across two vet streams and a dedicated nurse and technologist stream, the day was filled with practical learning, shared insights and time to reconnect with familiar faces and get to know new ones.

Thank you to our wonderful speakers for sharing their expertise and to everyone behind the scenes who brought the day to life.

We loved spending the day with our veterinary community and hope you took something valuable back to your team.
Thank you for making it such a special day. See you next year!

Today we get to shout out our amazing Client Services teams!

They’re the first voices on the phone, the friendly faces in our waiting rooms and the people who help you find your next step when there’s a lot to take in.

They keep important information moving between primary care vets and our specialist teams, let our clinical teams know when an urgent case is coming in and pass on your hugs and kisses to pets recovering in our ICU.

They love your pets as if they were their own, share in the joy of seeing them go home and grieve alongside you when it’s time to say goodbye. They’re here for you every day of the year.

To our Client Services teams, thank you for all you do. Your empathy, warmth and understanding mean so much to our clients and colleagues, and your brightness brings a little comfort to even the hardest days.

We couldn’t do it without you ♥️

Happy Vet Receptionist Day to our Client Services legends!

Today is R U OK? Day 💛

In our profession we spend so much time caring for animals, their families and one another.
Today's a reminder for us all to pause, check in and ask the simple question that can make a real difference to someone: "R U OK?"

Anyone can start a conversation. Take the time to listen with care, encourage action and keep checking in, not only today but any day.

From all of us at Pet ER and Queensland Veterinary Specialists, let's look out for one another and make time for the people around us.
