Meet “Nova”! 😻❤️🐾

At just 1 year old, “Nova” was surrendered to us through no fault of her own after being abandoned by her previous owner. She was left at a friend’s home, and despite promises to return, all contact was eventually blocked and “Nova” was never collected. Thankfully, she is now safe with us and ready for a fresh start.

Despite her young age, we were told that “Nova” has already had litters of kittens, which is incredibly sad. No cat should be spending their kittenhood raising kittens of their own. Today, “Nova” is being desexed, and we’re excited that her future can finally be all about her.

“Nova” is a very placid, sweet natured girl who is simply looking for stability, love, and someone who will cherish her for the rest of her life. She has previously lived with two other cats and reportedly got along better with the male cat than the female, although this may have been influenced by the fact that she was entire and potentially coming into season at the time. She is not a fan of dogs, so a dog free home would be best.

“Nova” has been accustomed to both indoor and outdoor living in the past, however moving forward she will need to be kept strictly indoors where she can remain safe and protected.

If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate companion who deserves a second chance, “Nova” may just be your perfect match.

“Nova” will be available for meet and greets from this Saturday. If you would like to arrange a time to meet her, please give us a call on 3264 7700! 🙏🏡🐾

Adoption Cost:
“Nova’s” adoption fee is $185. This price covers her desexing, vaccination, microchipping, worming, flea treatment and vet check.

🦇🧡 RESHARE FOR “BATMAN” 🧡🦇

We'd really love to get some meet and greets happening for our handsome senior gentleman, “Batman”!

At almost 11 years old, he’s looking for a quiet retirement home where he can enjoy comfy beds, sunny windows, good food, and plenty of naps. He's a lovely boy who deserves a second chance after coming into our care through no fault of his own.

If you're looking for a relaxed companion to share your couch with, “Batman” could be your perfect match. To arrange a meet and greet, please call us during opening hours on 3264 7700! 🙏

🦇🧡 Meet “Batman” 🧡🦇

Gotham City has sent us one of its finest.

At 10 years and 10 months old, “Batman” isn’t interested in fighting crime anymore. These days, this handsome ginger hero is looking to hang up the cape, retire from patrol, and spend his days enjoying the finer things in life… comfy beds, sunny windows, tasty meals, and uninterrupted naps.

“Batman” recently came into our care through no fault of his own. Sadly, his owner was experiencing homelessness and could no longer provide the care he deserved. Now, this distinguished gentleman is searching for a peaceful home where he can enjoy his golden years in comfort.

Unlike his namesake, “Batman” prefers a quiet lifestyle. There will be no late night rooftop adventures here… just plenty of sleeping, lounging, and judging your life choices from the comfort of his favourite chair.

His previous owner tells us that “Batman” is social with other cats, provided introductions are done slowly and respectfully. However, he does not like dogs. After being attacked by a dog several years ago, he’s understandably not interested in becoming friends with any canine sidekicks.

“Batman” is wonderful with people and enjoys being around his humans, but he’s also a firm believer in personal space. He’ll happily spend time with you before disappearing off to his Batcave for some well deserved peace and quiet.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who has traded crime fighting for couch surfing, “Batman” may be the hero you’ve been waiting for. To arrange a meeting with him, please call us on 3264 7700!

Adoption Cost:
“Batman’s” adoption fee is $185. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated and vet checked.

A huge thank you to everyone who sent through name suggestions for our little girl! We loved reading them all, and after much deliberation, we’ve decided to call her “Juno” 😻🩷🐾

“Juno” has had another check up with the team, and Dr Allen has now placed splints on both of her front legs. The goal is to help gently straighten them and encourage them to remain in a more normal position as she continues to grow.

These splints will need to stay on for the next few weeks, and we’ll be monitoring her closely to make sure she’s comfortable and progressing well. Thank you all for following her journey and cheering her on 🫶

We wanted to introduce the newest little kitten to enter our rescue program 🥺🐱💕

This sweet little girl arrived in our care yesterday after being found as a stray in Clontarf. We estimate she is only around 6 weeks old, but despite her young age, she has already faced more challenges than any kitten should.

She was brought to us in extremely poor condition, and our team immediately got to work trying to determine what was going on.

After examining her and taking X-rays, Dr Kristie and Dr Brook believe she may be suffering from a condition called rickets. This is something we very rarely see and is typically associated with poor nutrition during growth and development. Her front legs are weak and have a noticeably bowed appearance, and one of her paws is significantly more swollen than the other.

As if that wasn’t enough for such a tiny kitten, she also has ulcers in her mouth, most likely due to exposure to cat flu 😿

Sadly, cases like this also serve as an important reminder about the need to desex our pets. Every year, countless kittens are born to stray and undesexed cats, many of whom don’t receive the nutrition, veterinary care, or protection they need during those critical early weeks of life. While we can’t say exactly how this little girl ended up in her situation, desexing remains one of the most effective ways to prevent unwanted litters and reduce the number of vulnerable kittens facing an uncertain future.

At this stage, we simply don’t know what the future holds for her. What we do know is that she is now safe, loved, and will be given every possible chance. She has already started on Royal Canin Kitten food, and because she is still so young, we’re hopeful that proper nutrition and supportive care may help turn things around.

For now, it will very much be a waiting game while we monitor her progress and see how she responds to treatment.

Despite everything she has been through, this little girl has the sweetest nature. She absolutely adores pats and melts for head rubs.

We’re all rooting for her and hoping that with time, good nutrition, and plenty of love, she can start to feel like the happy, healthy kitten she deserves to be.

And because every special kitten deserves a special name, we’d love your suggestions! Drop your name ideas in the comments below 🫶

UPDATE: They’ve all been adopted!

Our little quartet is still on the lookout for their forever homes! 😻😻😻😻

We still have plenty of meet and greet appointments available for these gorgeous kittens, and we’d love to introduce them to potential adopters.

They’re sweet, playful, and ready to start the next chapter of their lives with loving families who will give them the time and patience they need to settle in and thrive.

If you’re interested in meeting one (or two) of these adorable babies, please give us a call today on 3264 7700 to arrange a visit! 📞🏡❤️

UPDATE: They’ve all been adopted!

Meet our latest little quartet! 😻😻😻😻

These four kittens were surrendered to us just a few days ago after a bit of a surprise turn of events. A kind hearted Good Samaritan took in a stray cat… only to discover she was already very much expecting. Not long after, she delivered a beautiful litter of babies. Mum has now officially secured her forever home, but she needed a helping hand finding the perfect homes for her little crew.

We have 2 girls and 2 boys, all around 3 months old. In the photo, the girls are positioned on the outside, and the boys are snuggled up in the middle.

They’re a very sweet bunch, but still a little unsure when it comes to new people and new environments. With time, patience, and a calm home, these babies will absolutely flourish into confident, affectionate companions.

They’ll need adopters who understand that the best things in life (and the best cats) are not instant… they’re earned, one gentle pat and slow blink at a time.

👉 Meet and greets can be arranged from Tuesday next week, once Shannon & Sophie are back on deck.

‼️ As always, please ensure you have rental approval in place prior to booking a time.

To arrange a meeting, please call us during opening hours on 3264 7700! 🙏🏡❤️

Adoption Cost:
We rehome all of our rescue kittens in an adoption package of $285. This includes their first F3 vaccination, microchipping, worming, flea treatment, a full vet check, and desexing (which occurs at 4 months of age and is recommended at the time of their third and final F3 vaccination).

To help your new baby settle into their forever home, we also offer $20 off Royal Canin Kitten dry food (available in 2kg or 4kg bags). All kittens go home on this food to avoid sudden diet changes and those dreaded upset tummies 💩 because happy bellies make happy kittens! 😻

Dear humans, “Dobby” here 👋 Apparently I’ve become quite the celebrity this week, and I wanted to pop in and say a very big thank you!

The kindness shown to our rescue program over the last few days has been incredible. So many wonderful people have dropped off beds, towels, blankets, toys, food, treats and other supplies, and honestly, you have all gone above and beyond. We are so grateful for every single donation.

The cosy bed I’m currently lounging on in this photo is just one of many generous gifts we’ve received. A little Dachshund could get very used to this level of luxury!

I’ve also been asked to pass on a thank you from all the rescue kitties. While I may be stealing the spotlight this week, they assure me they are equally appreciative of all the goodies.

Because of your incredible support, we don’t require anything else at the moment. We have been thoroughly spoiled and are well stocked for now.

Thank you for helping not only me, but all the cats and dogs who come through our rescue program. Your kindness makes a real difference and means more than you know.

Wishing everyone a very happy Tuesday!

Love “Dobby” 🐶🫶🐾

UPDATE: “Neena” has been adopted!

Meet “Neena”! 😻💙🐾

This beautiful Siamese X was surrendered to us after being found as a stray in Deception Bay. Sadly, “Neena” had been abandoned by her previous owners, but thankfully some very kind people stepped in to make sure she was safe and cared for.

“Neena” is estimated to be around 3 years old and has had kittens in the past. Now it’s her turn to be the one looked after.

She can be a little timid when meeting new people, but a few gentle pats, some patience, and a quiet voice quickly win her over. Once she realises you’re a friend, she starts to relax and show her sweet nature. We would love to find “Neena” a kind and peaceful home where she can truly thrive and build a strong bond with her special person.

And can we talk about those looks? “Neena” is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous seal point markings, striking blue eyes, and the kind of beauty that turns heads wherever she goes.

We believe “Neena” would be fine living with another friendly feline, provided introductions are done slowly and thoughtfully.

If you’d like to arrange a time to meet “Neena”, please call us during opening hours on 3264 7700!

Adoption Cost:
“Neena’s” adoption fee is $300. Since arriving into care, we have desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated her.

Meet “Dobby” 🥹🐶💙

“Dobby” was surrendered to us on Wednesday after a lovely young woman reached out for help. When “Dobby” was only 3 weeks old, she rescued him from being given away for free because of the condition affecting his skin. She has spent the last few weeks caring for him and doing everything she could, but ultimately made the difficult decision to surrender him when continuing his treatment became too much.

“Dobby” is now estimated to be around 6-7 weeks old and is a gorgeous little chocolate Dachshund with eyes that could convince even the strongest willed person to cancel all their plans and spend the day cuddling him.

The condition affecting “Dobby” is called puppy strangles (juvenile cellulitis). It’s an uncommon immune-mediated condition that causes inflammation, swelling, hair loss and crusting, most commonly around the face, eyes, lips and ears. The good news is that it is not contagious, so “Dobby” can’t pass it on to other pets.

We’ve started “Dobby” on a new treatment plan to help get things under control. We’re hopeful we’ll see gradual improvements over the coming weeks, but it will be a slow process and will require plenty of patience, monitoring and TLC.

Speaking of TLC… “Dobby” has come home with me for some extra nursing care. He is an absolute delight, loves cuddles, loves being carried, loves being wrapped up like a burrito and loves knowing exactly where his humans are at all times.

In fact, the only thing “Dobby” doesn’t like is being left alone. If he had a resume, his special skills would include:
✔ Following you everywhere
✔ Dramatic complaints when you leave the room
✔ Acting like he’s been abandoned for at least three business days when you’re actually just in the shower

We’ll keep everyone updated on “Dobby’s” progress as he continues his road to recovery.

‼️ Please do not ask when “Dobby” will be available for adoption or request to be added to a waitlist. The honest answer is that we simply don’t know yet. Right now, the most important thing is getting his skin condition under control and making sure he’s comfortable, happy and healing well. Once we know what the future looks like for “Dobby”, we’ll be sure to let everyone know.

For now, he’s safe, warm, loved and very busy supervising absolutely everything!

- Shannon ❤️🐾
