Honestly… I’ve lost track of the number of times beautiful “Scarlett” has been shared 😿

Her face has been seen by thousands of people, her post has been shared over and over again, and yet somehow, her forever person still hasn’t found her 💔

“Scarlett” is such a beautiful, fluffy, fabulous girl with a BIG personality, and she deserves so much more than waiting around at the surgery hoping that someone will finally choose her 🥺

👑 “Scarlett” needs to be the ONE AND ONLY pet.
🏡 She would love a quiet, loving home.
💜 She wants someone who will spoil her, adore her and let her rule the household like the queen she knows she is!

I really need to find “Scarlett” a loving home as soon as possible 🙏

She has waited long enough. She is ready to go home. She just needs that one special person to look past the fact that she’s an adult cat and realise what an incredibly special girl she is. If you don’t have any other pets and you’ve been considering giving an adult cat a second chance, please, please consider “Scarlett”.

📞 Call us today on 3264 7700 to arrange a viewing!!!

Meet “Scarlett”, our gorgeous 6 year and 8 month old long haired dilute tortoiseshell who has arrived into our care after we helped rescue her from a Kingaroy Pound! 😻💜🐾

Now, we’re not going to sugar coat it… “Scarlett” is a diva 🤣

“Scarlett” likes things done her way, on her schedule, and preferably without anyone attempting to touch the bits she has decided are off limits.

The pound found her quite challenging to handle because of her diva demeanour, and we can certainly see why. If “Scarlett” feels rushed or pressured, she may hiss or throw in a little warning swat. But here’s the secret…

Give her space. Respect her boundaries. Let HER come to YOU. And suddenly, the diva becomes an absolute sweetheart 🥹💕

Once “Scarlett” trusts you, she will happily seek out affection and show you her softer side. She just wants a human who understands that consent applies to cats too… especially when the cat in question has a serious case of main character syndrome 👑

“Scarlett” would love a quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace, and she’d prefer to be the only cat ruling the roost.

She also arrived with quite a bit of matting, particularly around her back legs. The pound struggled to manage her grooming because, well… “Scarlett” was not accepting applications for a stylist 💅😹

So this week, our diva is booked in for the full royal makeover ✂️ as she won’t allow us to safely remove the mats while awake, she’ll need to be sedated so we can get them clipped out and make sure she’s comfortable.

And this is something her future family will need to be prepared for.

“Scarlett’s” beautiful long coat will require ongoing maintenance, and unfortunately, brushing her may be a challenge. Her new owner will need to be comfortable with the possibility that she may need professional grooming under sedation when necessary to keep her coat healthy, comfortable and mat-free.

In other words… adopting “Scarlett” comes with a cat, a fabulous personality AND a potential grooming budget 🤣

We know “Scarlett” isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. She’s looking for her unicorn human 🦄… someone experienced with cats who understands that trust isn’t instant, respects her boundaries and is happy to let her decide when the friendship officially begins.

Because underneath all that fluff and attitude, there really is a gorgeous, affectionate girl waiting to come out.

“Scarlett” doesn’t need someone to change her.

She just needs someone who gets her.

Please call our team on 3264 7700 during opening hours if you’d like to chat with us about this fabulous little feline! 🙏🏡❤️

Adoption Cost:
“Scarlett’s” adoption fee is $185. She is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated and vet checked.

We honestly don’t even know where to begin with this one 😿

At around 3pm today, a Good Samaritan happened to be driving past a bus stop in Herston when she spotted this cage sitting there. She pulled over and waited to see if someone was with them, but they were completely alone.

This little family had been left in this cage with no food, no water and not even a lining on the bottom.

It is so incredibly sad and frightening to think about what could have happened to them. This mother and her babies could so easily have ended up in the completely wrong hands, with no one knowing where they came from or what their fate may have been.

The mumma cat is estimated to be only around 12 months old and she is understandably very shut down. She isnt microchipped and weighs just 2.2kg… she is such a tiny young girl herself 🥺

Her three babies are estimated to be around 5-6 weeks old.

We have wormed all four of them this afternoon and, for now, our focus is simply on giving this little family a safe, quiet place to decompress and recover.

Please, please don’t ask us when they will be available for adoption.

They have literally only just arrived and they need time. We need to make sure Mum and her babies are healthy, eating and drinking well, and progressing as they should before we even begin thinking about finding them homes.

For tonight, they are safe. They are warm. They have food and water. And most importantly, they are no longer sitting alone at a bus stop.

We’ll see how this little family progresses and keep you updated 🐈🐱🐱🐱❤️

💔 “WILSON” IS BACK IN OUR REHOMING PROGRAM 💔

Our big handsome goofball “Wilson” was adopted on Saturday, and sadly, after just a few days in his new home, he was returned to us this morning.

There were a multitude of reasons as to why “Wilson” has come back, and while it’s certainly disappointing, we aren’t going to let this get us down. We are determined to find this beautiful boy the loving, committed home he deserves… with a person or family who understands that bringing a rescue dog home can take time, patience and dedication.

One of the concerns raised was that “Wilson” appeared to have some separation anxiety, becoming vocal and reactive when left alone. His adopters also felt he was unsure of some of the stimuli he encountered in the outdoor environment. Another reason related to his food motivation… “Wilson” was very interested in getting into the food bin where the dog food was stored.

We want to be very upfront about these things, because finding the right home for “Wilson” is our absolute priority.

And we want to make something VERY clear about this gorgeous boy:
🐾 “Wilson” was rescued from Kingaroy Pound, where he was brought in as a stray.
🐾 He was not microchipped or desexed when he entered the pound.
🐾 We have no information whatsoever about his history, upbringing or beginnings in life.

We simply don’t know what “Wilson” has experienced before coming into our care. What we do know is the “Wilson” we have come to know and love 🥹

“Wilson” is a 4 year old Bull Arab mix weighing 32.5kg, and he is genuinely one of the sweetest, goofiest dogs you could meet. He is loving, affectionate, happy, tail wagging and absolutely adores attention.

He knows how to sit and shake, and more than anything, he just wants to be loved and cared for 🫶

Importantly, “Wilson” and the other dog in his adopter’s home got along well, and there were no concerns about the two dogs being together.

His eye is also healing really well following his enucleation, and his stitches are due to be removed later this week ❤️‍🩹

🏡 SO, WHAT KIND OF HOME ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We believe “Wilson” would benefit enormously from someone who can be home a lot, particularly while he transitions into his new life.

We want his next home to understand that “Wilson” may not settle overnight. Given his unknown history, being rescued as a stray, his time in the pound and then his time in a veterinary environment, we feel it could potentially take months rather than days or weeks for him to truly adjust to living in a home and feel completely secure.

He needs someone who will support him through that transition, be patient with him, help him understand what is expected of him and give him the reassurance and consistency he needs. We aren’t looking for someone who expects a perfectly settled dog from day one.

We’re looking for someone who will celebrate the little wins, work through the challenges and, most importantly, be committed to “Wilson” for the long haul.

We know that underneath it all, this beautiful boy is an amazing dog. We see it every single day. He is loving, happy, affectionate and full of personality… and we desperately want to find someone who will give him the opportunity to show them just how wonderful he can be.

So yes, we’re disappointed that his first adoption didn’t work out. But we refuse to let this define “Wilson”.

There is a home out there for this big, beautiful, one-eyed goofball. We just need to find it 🙏🏡🐾

👉 If you think you could be that person or family, please email us at [email protected] and tell us a little about yourself, your household, any other pets you have and what you could offer “Wilson”.

📌 Adoption fee: $300
“Wilson” is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated and vet checked.

He has so much love to give. He just needs someone willing to give him the time, patience, support and understanding to settle into the life he deserves 🙌🐕❤️

👑 “SCARLETT” IS STILL WAITING… 👑

How is this beautiful girl STILL waiting for her happily ever after? 🥺

We’ve shared “Scarlett” so many times now, and despite being absolutely fabulous, fluffy and full of personality, she is still waiting for someone to give her the chance she deserves 😿

“Scarlett” is looking for a home where she can be the one and only pet. She would love a quiet, loving home where she can soak up all the attention and be treated like the queen she is!

So, if you’ve been thinking about adopting an adult cat and you don’t have any other pets, please consider “Scarlett” 🙏

UPDATE: “Evie” has been adopted!

Introducing beautiful little “Evie”! 🥹🐕💕

“Evie” is a 7 week old Staffy X Kelpie puppy who was surrendered to us for rehoming a few days ago.

“Evie” has already had quite the start to life. She was rescued by a lovely lady who hand raised her from when she was just 2 weeks old, after her mum rejected her. She did an absolutely wonderful job caring for little “Evie”, and thanks to all that love and dedication, “Evie” has grown into such a happy, healthy and incredibly loveable little puppy! 🥰

“Evie” is a little foodie who absolutely LOVES her meals! She has also been around other dogs and cats and has had no issues, although as with any puppy, all interactions will need to be supervised and continued slowly and appropriately as she grows.

This gorgeous girl has SO much potential and we are looking for a very special home for her 🏡

“Evie” is only 7 weeks old, which means her new family will need to be prepared for all the hard work that comes with raising a puppy. She will need lots of time, love, patience, consistency and guidance, as well as ongoing training and socialisation to help her grow into the best dog she can possibly be.

We would strongly recommend enrolling “Evie” into a puppy preschool to help with her ongoing development, training and socialisation 🎓

💌 APPLICATIONS FOR “EVIE” WILL BE VIA EMAIL ONLY 💌

👉 If you believe “Evie” could be the perfect addition to your family, please email Shannon at [email protected].

Please include information about:
✅ Yourself and your family
✅ Your home and living arrangements
✅ Your lifestyle and how much time you have available for a puppy
✅ Any other pets you have
✅ Why you feel “Evie” would be suited to your family

Please understand that not everyone who submits an application will be invited in for a meet and greet. We will carefully review all applications and contact the applicants we feel may be the right fit for “Evie”.

Our priority is simply finding this beautiful little girl the right forever home… a family who will cherish her, spoil her rotten and be committed to giving her everything she needs to thrive 🥹💕

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you little “Evie”! 💗

Adoption Cost:
“Evie’s” adoption fee is $900. This price includes a vaccination, microchipping, worming, flea treatment and thorough vet check. Her future desexing is also included in her adoption fee and will be completed at our surgery once she is old enough.

UPDATE: "Felix" has been adopted!

Our handsome boy “Felix” is STILL waiting for someone to give him a chance… and we’re honestly baffled! 🥺🤎🏡

Despite sharing him again and again, not a single meet and greet has happened 😿

“Felix” is looking for a loving home where he can be your one and only pet. He’s only ever lived as an only pet and has struggled with the big changes that come with life at the surgery, so he really needs a home where he can have all the love and attention to himself.

PLEASE HELP US HELP OUR ADULT CATS! 🙏
We desperately need to find homes for our adult cats, and “Felix” is still patiently waiting for his person ❤️

Please share, tag your cat loving friends and help us get this gorgeous boy seen! His forever family could be just one share away 🥹🐾

UPDATE: "Felix" has been adopted!

This handsome fluffy tabby and white boy is “Felix”, 3 year and 8 month old gentleman who is hoping to find his forever home 🤎😻🤍

“Felix” was surrendered to us for rehoming by his previous owner, who was moving overseas. His story actually began when he was around 6 months old, when he was found as a stray in Sandgate. His finder took him in, gave him a loving home and eventually adopted him.

“Felix” has only ever lived as an only pet, so we would love to find him a home where he can continue to be the one and only 👑

The change of environment has been a lot for “Felix”, and he has struggled to settle into life at the surgery. He is currently very much on guard and out of sorts, so we haven’t yet had the opportunity to see the affectionate side of “Felix” that his previous owner knows and loves.

We’ve been told that “Felix” is a very affectionate boy who loves to snuggle up on the bed with you. He enjoys pats and having company, but he doesn’t enjoy being picked up.

We know that underneath his current nerves is the lovely boy his previous family described, and we would absolutely love to find “Felix” a patient, dedicated person who will give him the time, space and understanding he needs to decompress and settle into his new home.

“Felix” wouldn’t be suited to a home with young children who may not yet be able to read and respect a cat’s body language. He needs someone who will let him come around in his own time and build his confidence at his own pace.

If you think you could be the patient and loving forever home “Felix” is looking for, please call our team on 3264 7700 to arrange a meet and greet! 🙏🏡🐾

Adoption Cost:
“Felix’s” adoption fee is $185. He is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated and vet checked.

👑 “SCARLETT” IS STILL WAITING! 👑

This is now the FIFTH time we’ve shared beautiful “Scarlett” and somehow, she is still waiting for someone to come along and give her the loving home she deserves 🥺

“Scarlett” is fabulous, fluffy and full of personality, but she can’t stay with us forever. She needs someone to see her post, fall in love and give her a chance 🙏🏡❤️

I also want to be completely transparent with everyone… I am not accepting any more adult cats into our rehoming program until all of our current adult cats in care have been adopted. We simply need to focus on the cats already here and make sure they all find their families before we can take on any more.

So, if you’ve been thinking about adopting an adult cat, please consider “Scarlett”. Call us today on 3264 7700 to arrange a viewing! 🙌
