Little Linc has been at it again.
Snapped another tooth off.

Thanks to the Dr Tim and team at Greencross Woolloongabba for looking after my little legend (and Dr Jacqui for his sneaky cuddles through the day).

A wild ride home in the crazy amount of rain.

Now he’s had dinner, cuddles and is snoozing.

Lol… furbo is getting funny with its comments 🪞 🐶 And yes… comment before, she was chewing her food toy.

What did you get up to today?

I started my day with a webinar
“Keep Moving: Optimizing Mobility Requires a Whole Body Approach!”… it was about dogs and cats but the science I’m sure is equally valid in humans. Off to read some of their research papers and look at the various supplements they discussed as well.

Then off to the cafe with Zeike for breakfast.

Molly did the full walk around forest lake lake… we also debated for a long time if this turtle was real…

Finished the day with Quokka where we worked on her reactivity to the TV.

Then home and made dinner in my new toy … an instant pot.
The pups definitely approved.

Brian was so much help while I cleaned the cat enclosure:

What’s your dog’s “thing”?
Because it might not be the $70 enrichment toy sitting untouched in the corner.

Enrichment has become a massive buzz word lately.
Every second product promises mental stimulation, calmness and fulfilment.

But real enrichment?
It’s much simpler .

Some dogs would choose shredding cardboard over a puzzle toy every single time.
Some want to sniff every blade of grass.
Some thrive on running, jumping and movement.
Some love chewing and licking.
Some enjoy solving problems.
Some just want to quietly watch the world go by.

That’s the bit we can miss.

We start choosing enrichment based on trends, marketing or what other dogs enjoy instead of observing our own dogs and what brings them joy.

A dog walking away from a puzzle toy is not “failing enrichment”.
They may simply be telling you
“This isn’t my thing.”

So what is?💭

This is something I regularly discuss with my clients.

Yappy Barkday to my crazy boy Lincoln.

He’s such a fun, sparky, wild child. Also expensive….. crazy expensive.

Lol evidence of his loopiness… playing in the sandpit just after breaking off another tooth (booked in again to have the remains of the tooth removed).
