🐾 Every rescue dog needs someone in their corner.

At Greys 2nd Chance, we work to give greyhounds the care, support and opportunity they need to move on to a loving new life.

Fundraising helps us continue that work.

That’s why we’re so pleased to be partnering with Greener Hound for the upcoming Ultimate Low-Tox Dog Workshop.

Your booking gives you the opportunity to learn more about supporting your own dog’s health and wellbeing, while also contributing towards the work we do for rescue greyhounds.

FRIDAY FEEL-GOOD STORY! 🌅🐾

If you’re heading into the weekend, here’s something we hope puts a smile on your face.

Look at Freddy now. 💙

Not long ago, he was waiting in a kennel, wondering what was next.

Now he’s got a beach, a sunset, his very own human and a whole new life to enjoy.

From waiting…
to living. 💙

These photos say so much.

A dog who now has somewhere to call home.
A human who has found a wonderful companion.
And a beautiful reminder of what can happen when someone says yes to a greyhound.

Freddy’s second chance is exactly why we do what we do. 🐾

We couldn’t be happier seeing him enjoying beach walks, sunset adventures and life with his human.

Congratulations Freddy! We hope your weekend is filled with plenty more walks, cuddles and adventures. 💙

🐾 Sometimes a greyhound starts a conversation that hasn’t happened in a long time. 💙

Our greyhounds and their humans recently spent some very special time visiting the residents at Wishart Aged Care.

For around an hour, the greyhounds wandered around saying hello, accepting pats and simply being themselves.

And something wonderful happened.

Residents began talking.

About dogs they had loved.
Pets they had shared their lives with.
Memories that came flooding back.

The greyhounds gave them something to talk about, something to smile about and a reason to connect with the people around them.

It was such a positive experience for everyone involved, and we’re so grateful to our volunteers and their beautiful greyhounds for making it possible. 💙

🐾 We’re looking for more volunteers!

We’d love to grow our aged care visits and we’re looking for people who have a well-socialised greyhound and can spare around an hour each month to come along.

You don’t need to be a professional. You simply need to have a greyhound who enjoys meeting people and is happy receiving pats and attention.

Your hour could mean so much to someone who is missing a beloved pet or simply needs a reason to smile and start a conversation.

If you have a well-socialised greyhound, bring them along and hang out with us at the Greys 2nd Chance stand for a while. No booking needed!

Your greyhound doesn’t need to do anything special. Just being there gives people the chance to meet a greyhound, have a pat and discover what wonderful companion dogs they are. 💙

Come for 30 minutes, stay for the day, wander around and enjoy Paws in the Park with your family and your hound.

We’re getting ready for a fantastic day and we’d love to see our Greys 2nd Chance community there!

If you have a well-socialised greyhound, bring them along and come and hang out with us at the Greys 2nd Chance stand. There’s no need to book and you don’t need to volunteer for a shift. Just come along, enjoy the day with your family and your hound, and drop by for a visit. 💙

One of the best ways to show people what wonderful companions greyhounds make is simply to let them meet one.

A pat.
A cuddle.
A gentle lean.
A greyhound happily hanging out with their human.

Those little moments can change someone’s mind about greyhounds forever. 🐾

So bring your hound, bring your family, invite your friends and come enjoy a great day out!

💙 WELCOME TO GREYS 2ND CHANCE, DUKE! 💙

We have a new boy to introduce, and we think you’re going to agree… Duke is a very handsome brindle boy! 🐾

At just 2.5 years old, Duke has now made the big move into foster care and is starting to discover what life as a pet is all about.

We don’t know a lot about Duke just yet, but that’s okay. His foster journey has only just begun, and we’re looking forward to getting to know his personality, discovering what he loves and watching him settle into his new life.

He’s already enjoying some time in the yard and checking out the house… and it looks like he’s found himself a greyhound friend to hang out with too. 🥰

Now we’d love you to help us give Duke a big Greys 2nd Chance welcome!

Join us on Saturday 22 August from 9:00am to 2:00pm for a fantastic day out at Paws in the Park!

We’ll be there all day with our Greys 2nd Chance stand, and we’d love to see lots of our greyhound community come along.

If you have a well-socialised greyhound, bring them along to say hello! There’s no need to book or volunteer for a shift. Just come and enjoy the day with your family, meet other greyhound lovers and spend some time around our stand.

One of the best ways to help greyhounds is simply by letting people meet them.

Every pat, every conversation and every greyhound people meet helps show just what wonderful companions they are.

🐾 Catch up with fellow greyhound lovers.
💙 Help us introduce more people to this amazing breed.
