A little hyperlapse of me grooming River, who is a very good boy, just likes to move around a lot!

We shouldn't be trying to "just get it done". Sometimes it can be frustrating when a dog is taking longer than usual, or "being naughty", but I see it as a gentle reminder to slow down a little bit.

In the hustle and bustle of salon work, sometimes you just want to finish the groom and get onto the next dog or finish up and go home.
Personally, I've always found that when I try to rush, it tends to actually slow the process down more - the dog senses the tension, the frustration, the stress and now there are 2 stressed out animals getting frustrated with each other.

It's a little therapeutic sometimes too. I'm a pretty anxious person, and I have ADHD, so my brain is always moving 100km an hour. Working with dogs, especially when they're nervous, reminds me to slow myself down, take a breath, and regulate my own nervous system.

Just a little thought dump, I suppose.
