Hi PAWS Brisbane fam — it’s your friendly neighbourhood foster mum here, currently typing this from the 10cm of bed space my kittens have graciously left me.

I adore these boys with my whole heart…
…but I would also like my pillows, my space in the bed, and maybe even a full night’s sleep again.

So please meet the culprits:

• Simon & Theodore — the “we’re innocent, we swear” duo who believe 5am zoomies are a personality trait.
• Jasper & Casper — professional cuddle monsters who think my head is a mattress.
• Chucky — my black‑and‑white shadow who wants to be your best friend, your sidekick, and your bedtime snuggler.

They’re all 18-ish weeks, microchipped, vaccinated, desexed, and fully trained in the art of stealing hearts (and blankets).

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the time.

💗 MONDAY CHECK-IN: How many people remember Lola when she first came into rescue? 💗

But Lola’s story isn’t finished yet.

🚨 URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED FOR SCOOBY 🚨

Please share far and wide. This boy’s future depends on it. ❤️

Scooby was hours away from being put to sleep in a small rural NSW pound when we stepped in. What arrived in care was a dog carrying far more than just a pound number. It quickly became clear that this beautiful boy has experienced significant abuse and neglect in his past.

Over the last 6 weeks, we’ve watched Scooby slowly start to believe that not every human will hurt him. Every week he shows us a little more of who he really is.

And who is Scooby?

🐾 A giant goofy sweetheart with a head the size of a horse.
🐾 A German Shepherd cross with legs for days.
🐾 Loves other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion.
🐾 Fantastic recall and listens incredibly well.
🐾 Loves kids.
🐾 Toilet trained.
🐾 Loves walks, toys, playtime and being involved in family life.
🐾 Wants desperately to trust and be loved.

As Scooby has decompressed, we’ve also learned more about his needs. Unfortunately, he is not safe with cats and can no longer remain in his current foster home.

This is now urgent.

Scooby needs a foster home in the Brisbane area (or surrounding suburbs) with:
✔️ No cats
✔️ A secure yard
✔️ Another friendly dog preferred, or someone home most of the time
✔️ Patience while he continues learning that the world is a safe place

He’s not a bad dog. He’s a dog whose true personality is finally emerging after surviving things no dog should ever experience.

❤️🥺🐕 Would you adopt a dog who hides under the bed for weeks and won’t even look at you? 🐾

An Update on Little Miss Lola ❤️

Some of you may have noticed that Lola has quietly disappeared from our adoption listings.

After moving into a new foster home, we’ve been able to spend some time getting to know Lola’s day-to-day needs a little more closely, and unfortunately we’ve uncovered a number of medical concerns that require further investigation and treatment before she’s ready to find her forever family.

As many of you know, rescue isn’t always a straight line. Sometimes it takes time, stability, and the right environment before underlying health issues become apparent. What we’re seeing now simply wasn’t obvious earlier in Lola’s journey.

The important thing is that Lola is safe, loved, and receiving the care she needs. Our focus is on getting answers, creating a treatment plan, and making sure she’s as comfortable and healthy as possible.

While this means her adoption is on hold for now, we’re grateful these concerns have been identified so they can finally be addressed properly.

Unfortunately, specialist appointments, diagnostics, medications and ongoing treatment can become quite costly. If you’d like to help Lola on her journey to feeling her best, donations of any size are greatly appreciated and will go directly towards her veterinary care. ❤️
