Could you be the right Guardian Family for a Lovelocks Cobberdog?

Our Guardian Program gives selected Lovelocks breeding dogs the opportunity to live full-time with a loving family while remaining part of our breeding program for a limited period.

We’re looking for families who can offer more than just a lovely home we’re looking for people with the time and commitment to keep their dog well trained, well groomed, thoughtfully socialised and genuinely included in everyday family life.

Guardian Families also need to live within a reasonable distance (60-90 minutes) of Lovelocks (Lockyer Valley) and be happy to stay closely connected with us, including regular visits so their dog remains comfortable and familiar here.

In return, you’ll welcome a carefully selected Lovelocks dog into your family, receive ongoing support from us, and be part of something genuinely special.

If this sounds like a good fit for your family, you can read more about the program and apply here:

A VERY SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY — MEET CILLA

Cilla is the final puppy available from our Elvis × Georgie litter, and we are now looking for the right future for this beautiful girl.

Cilla is a medium-size caramel female. She is DNA clear and has a beautiful straight, light-density fleece coat.

These dogs have been years in the making carefully selecting across generations for the light density fleece coats, soubd structure and beautiful human focused temperament we want to preserve within the Lovelocks breeding program.

Cilla is offered as either:

🤎 a carefully selected local guardian family, where she can grow up as a deeply loved family companion while remaining part of the future of Lovelocks.

Or,

🤎 the first puppy to be offered through the Lovelocks New Breeder Mentorship Program.

This is a very special opportunity for someone who has considered becoming an Australian Cobberdog breeder but wants to begin with quality bloodlines, hands-on education and an experienced breeder supporting them from the beginning.

The program has been created to help new breeders develop an ethical breeding program built on strong principles and purpose.

The successful applicant will be personally mentored by me and supported to join the Australian Cobberdog Society. They will learn how to raise and develop a potential breeding dog, complete the required health testing and assessments, understand pedigrees and thoughtful mate selection.

They will then gain practical, hands-on experience through the complete breeding journey from mating and pregnancy through to whelping, raising, developing and assessing puppies.

The mentorship will also support them to begin building their own ethical breeding program under their own prefix, with guidance through their first year of breeding and beyond.

This is much more than the opportunity to purchase a breeding dog.

It is an opportunity to learn beside an experienced breeder, gain genuine hands-on knowledge and begin with a thoughtfully developed dog and an established support system behind you.

Cilla will only be placed where we believe she will thrive and where her future aligns with the values, principles and purpose of Lovelocks.

Applications are now open for either:

🤎 A local Lovelocks guardian family
🤎 A suitable applicant for our New Breeder Mentorship Program

Please contact Lovelocks directly and tell me a little about yourself, your family and which opportunity you are interested in.

We have one beautiful nine-week-old male puppy from our Georgie × Elvis litter available to join a family.

He has a lovely straight fleece coat and is expected to mature to a medium size.

This boy has beautifully balanced energy and displays those desirable middle-of-the-pack puppy traits. He is confident and comfortable without being overly bold, brash or boisterous. He offers lovely eye contact, has a strong sit for attention and is showing himself to be connected, responsive and highly trainable.

Raised from birth through our Calm Foundations™ Program, he has been carefully supported through early socialisation, new experiences, handling and the development of calm, thoughtful behaviour.

He has completed his veterinary health check, first vaccination and microchipping and is available to join his family this weekend.

Please contact directly for further information or to discuss whether he may be the right fit for your family.

Five weeks old and beginning their Calm Foundations training.

At this age, puppies are naturally impulsive around food. Their first response may be to jump, mouth, push forward, or try to grab the reward. That is a very normal reactive puppy response they want the food, and their body acts before their brain has time to think.

This is where we start shaping a different behaviour.

By rewarding the puppies when they sit calmly at my feet, we are reinforcing the behaviour we want to see more of. The puppies begin to learn that calm behaviour, stillness, eye contact, and waiting politely are what make the food reward happen.

Jumping and grabbing do not get reinforced. Sitting and engaging calmly does.

This is such an important foundation because good training is not just about teaching commands. It is about helping puppies move from a reactive state into a thinking state, where they can listen, connect, and make better choices.

Before puppies can reliably learn skills like sit, recall, wait, leave it, loose lead walking, or settling, they first need to learn that calm focus is rewarding.

These small moments at five weeks old are the beginning of that process — building puppies who are more responsive, more thoughtful, and more emotionally regulated as they grow. 🤎

🐾 Pupdate #2 has landed in our puppy families' inboxes!

This week's update focuses on one of the biggest milestones in early puppy development – the transition from milk to solid foods.

Our families are learning:

🥩 What our puppies are currently eating

🦠 How we protect the developing microbiome

🍽️ How much to feed a growing puppy

🦃 Why we use Lyka as part of our weaning program

🐾 What developmental milestones the puppies are reaching this week

Our families receive regular updates, education and resources throughout their puppy journey so they feel confident and prepared before their puppy comes home.

These little ones are growing up fast, and this week they have started exploring new foods, new experiences and an ever-expanding world. ❤️

🌹 Graceland Rose Line • 4 Weeks Old

Confidence is growing, personalities are emerging, and the puppies are becoming more engaged with the world around them.

One of our favourite stages of puppy development. ❤️

🐾 PUPDATE #1 SENT 🐾

One of the things we love most about raising puppies is sharing the journey with our families every step of the way.

This week our Georgie × Elvis puppies reached 3 weeks of age, and our first Pupdate has landed in the inboxes of their future families.

At Lovelocks, we don't simply send puppies home and wish families luck. From the moment a litter is born, we provide ongoing guidance and resources to help families feel informed, supported and prepared for their puppy's arrival.

This week's Pupdate includes:

✨ Beautiful new puppy photos

✨ Important dates including Puppy Parties, Vaccination Day and Go Home Day

✨ Our recommended Baxter & Bella "Preparing for Your Puppy" training video

✨ Exclusive Baxter & Bella member discount

✨ Information about what families can expect over the coming weeks

Over the next few months our families will receive a series of "Pupdates" covering nutrition, grooming, vaccinations, training, puppy parties and everything they need to confidently welcome their new family member home.

Because raising calm, connected family and wellbeing dogs starts long before go-home day. ❤️
