Why Feed Olive Leaf Powder to your Dog?

Olive Leaf has excellent antimicrobial, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties. It’s main active ingredient, oleuropein, boosts the immune system and fights pathogens, including yeast fungi. It may be used for common conditions like kennel cough and urinary tract infections.

As Olive leaf is antifungal it may be effective in treating various kinds of fungus including yeast infections (candida). Olive leaf has 400% more antioxidant power than vitamin C, making it a strong ally in the fight against yeast. See Barking Delicious Combate Yeast Pack.

As a natural antibiotic, disabling pathogenic bacteria without harm to the healthy microbes in the gut or mucous membranes.
It is also rich in antioxidants reducing free radical activity in the body, preventing disease.

Caution: Olive leaf powder has limited side effects, it may cause nausea in some dogs. Should your dog experience nausea, vomiting or digestive issues discontinue use. Do not use in pregnant or nursing females.

Why Feed Burdock Root to your Dog?

Prebiotics are an essential for keeping your dog’s gut healthy. Gut health is strongly linked to immune health. About 80% of their immune system lives in the gut, so we need to ensure the probiotics in their gut are fed. Fermented prebiotics do this job and help grow, restore and maintain healthy gut flora. When feeding probiotic ensure prebiotic fibre is included.

Prebiotics are soluble, indigestible fibre found in foods like Burdock Root, which contains high levels of the prebiotic, Inulin. Note: not all fibre acts as a prebiotic.

There are two types of dietary fibre.
• Soluble fibre is fermented by gut bacteria when it reaches the colon
• Insoluble fibre is not fermented as it passes through the digestive tract

Dandelions -Taraxacum officinale . Are they a w**d or something that we need to reconsider as a valued herb for their nutritional benefits? Like all beneficial herbs feed in moderation.

Pick the leaves before the flowers blooms and store in the freezer. After flowering the leaves become bitter. The flowers can also be stored in the freezer for when required.

Julie says "I purchased your book and today started my Maltese (Bella) on the raw food diet - I made her the Barkers Beef Roll, I put a small amount with her dry food and she devoured all, the first time she has rated all her dry food in one sitting, I also got her some lamb rib bones and the butcher cut them into about 4” strips, she had this earlier in the day and ate all of it. I think this raw food eating will be great for her. Just a quick question in the barkers beef roll is that half a cup of cooked or raw quinoa.
