💙❤️🩶 2026 FLYBALL NATIONALS — WRAP UP! 🩶❤️💙
Now that we’ve had some sort of sleep, semi recovered from the physical exhaustion and had a little time for the weekend to actually sink in… it’s time to reflect on the absolute rollercoaster ride that was our 2026 Nationals! 🎢🐾
Firstly, we’d like to once again say a HUGE thank you to Flyball Nationals 2026 for putting on such a fantastic Nationals. It’s no easy feat organising an event of this size, and we appreciate everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make it happen. ❤️
Another massive thank you to all of the officials, timekeepers and judges , and in particular, the judge of our division for a fantastic weekend of judging. Without you guys, we simply couldn’t run in the lanes with our teams! 👏🏼

Thank you for two solid days of fierce, hard-fought, ridiculously tight racing!
It was an absolute rollercoaster, with almost every race coming down to the 5th heat or ending in a nail-biting finish. There was absolutely NO room for complacency! 😮💨🔥
Walking into this weekend, we honestly weren’t expecting to come away on top.
We knew it was going to be HARD.
The only other thing we knew for certain was that we were going to give it one hell of a crack!
And that’s exactly what we did.
🩶 SATURDAY
We started the weekend strong with 5 wins from 6 races, only dropping our race against Vic Weiners when they pulled out a very respectable 18.1 — a time we honestly thought we couldn’t touch!
After an action-packed day, we enjoyed a great night of trivia and dinner before heading home for some much-needed sleep.
❤️ SUNDAY
We woke up Sunday already feeling sore, tired and sorry for ourselves😂
But we pulled ourselves together and managed to take the first two races of the day before coming up against Vic Weiners for the final time of the weekend.
And once again… it came down to the *FINAL HEAT😳
This time, we dug even deeper and somehow pulled out a NEW CLUB PB — 17.904!!!🔥🔥🔥
A time we had absolutely NO IDEA we were capable of running!
We unfortunately lost the race, and at that point we were tied with Vic Weiners for 1st place, with them holding the advantage on for-and-against.
Honestly, we were already incredibly proud.
At our first nationals as a club, against some absolutely incredible interstate teams, we were more than happy to accept 2nd place.
…BUT THEN.
Vic Weiners had their final race.
And unfortunately for them and very unexpectedly , they lost.
Which meant that if we could win our final race of the day, we would pick up the two extra points we needed.
And THAT is where the panic set in. 😳
The pressure was on.
Our handlers were exhausted.
Our dogs were running on empty.
And every single person on our team knew exactly what was on the line.
We stepped into the ring for our final race, took a deep breath…
…and left absolutely everything we had in the lanes…
One final push.
One final heat.
One final run from every dog.
As Ruby crossed that line for the final time, the entire team absolutely erupted🥹😭❤️
After two days of racing, the early mornings, the long days of travel, the nerves, the sore bodies, the exhaustion, the pressure and the countless hours of preparation…
WE HAD DONE IT
WE WERE DIVISION 3 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS 🥹❤️💙🩶
We couldn’t be prouder of every single dog, every single handler and every person who helped get us here.
And to every person who jumped in to help us throughout the weekend — whether it was pass calling, ball sh****ng, helping Em get the box in and out of the ring, helping us warm up, holding dogs, or simply yelling encouragement from the sidelines and messages or encouragement from afar…
