Our latest seat cover is hereeee 🐾

Version 3.0 has landed with some awesome upgrades, based on all of your wonderful feedback!

✨ Premium, extra strong SBS zippers
✨ WAY bigger storage pocket that can fit our large Active Rings, with a new lid design (goodbye Velcro snagging on your leashes and soft toys 👏)
✨ Carry bag that doubles as extra handy storage pocket on the back of the passenger seat
✨ LHD option now available for our US customers on our store AND on Amazon US 🇺🇸

When you’re buying from a small business, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes beyond simply sourcing a product. This seat cover is a unique design we’ve spent a huge amount of time refining - from sourcing better materials, improving stitching, testing components and continuously taking on customer feedback to make each version better than the last.

Since we first launched this product, our production and freight costs, especially for a heavier item like this, have increased significantly too – and so an unfortunately reality of that is that our prices have had to change to reflect this.

We know cost of living is tough on all of us right now, small businesses and consumers alike. So before Version 3.0 moves to its new official price, I wanted to give everyone a chance to grab one from our site at launch pricing.

25% off until the end of May with free shipping Australia-wide 🎉

Thanks so much for your support of our small business. It means so much to Winnie and I 🩵

Reward placement is one of the most powerful mechanics in dog training - and most overlooked by pet owners.

While reinforcement acts to strengthen a behaviour, its placement can shapes how the behaviour is performed.

Dogs naturally orient toward reinforcement, which means anticipation can form quickly. Over repeated repetitions, their body starts organising itself around where reinforcement is expected to appear. This is why handlers must think not only about the behaviour itself, but also about the movement that happens immediately after the marker.

A thing that most people don’t realise about marker words is that they act as cues that tell the dog how, where, and which type of reinforcement is coming.

For example, a marker that predicts food delivered directly to the mouth can help maintain stationary behaviours, while a different marker that predicts a toy tossed behind the dog can create anticipation behind them, stopping creeping.

Dog training is a constant balancing act. If anticipation begins pulling the dog too far in one direction (e.g. creeping forward), the best solution might not more repetition of the same thing, only trying to reward better reps with less creeping - but adjusting reward placement to rebalance the behaviour. Repeated association between the behaviour and this placement can build faster drops, tighter mechanics, and more reliable stationary behaviour for a creeping dog.

If training with toy rewards is part of the plan, now’s a great time to stock up - our Valentine’s Day sale is live with 20% off storewide with code VDAY20. This includes our best-selling Active Rings, built for high-value chase, tug, and effective reinforcing during training sessions.

Come along for some agility training with us featuring our Pop-Up Bowl 🩵

While our Pop-Up Bowl is primarily used by our customers for adventures and travel, I loveee to use it as a target bowl for training! 😍

It’s a perfect size, and the fact that it can compress down into half height, then fully flat, makes it super easy to fade out 🙌 I’ve used this a lot in agility training, particularly in the early stages of teaching our lefts and rights over jumps.

Today we worked on building our contacts (among other things) and started adding some faster movement.

What do you use your Pop-Up Bowl for? 💬👇

Good luck to our incredible dock dogs community competing at and this weekend! 🤩

Your girl has got a hens weekend away, so sadly we’ll be missing out on all the fun ourselves. But rest assured, I will be eagerly checking my phone every couple of hours while I’m there, following along through all the stories and posts from our favourite community 🤪😂

If you are competing or using our toys at all over the weekend, make sure you tag us so we can see you and your dog’s in action! 🥰

To make things extra fun, I’ll be randomly selecting TWO of our community members jumping with our toys (who tag us on socials) to get a FREE new fresh replacement 👀

If you aren’t an APAWLO customer but would like to try our gear, ask one of our incredible dock doggers attending the events over this weekend for their code ☺️ and if you are one of those people but don’t have a code yet, message me and I’ll set you up! 🙌
