So the other day my partner and I learned the very tough lesson to not take our fur babies presence in our home for granted. They are loyal and trusting that we will always be goo guardians and whilst our intentions are all good we just let the business and stress of life get in the way of clarity and judgments.

This had led us to a place that brought our world to a grinding halt as Cleo entered into a coma after she received the wrong dose of her wormer. This was a total accident and we have suffered with extreme grief, shock and stress this week. Spiralling with guilt and pain, as parents to Cleo and Lulu. I am sure most pet parens would. How much can we do and invest to save our fur babies fragile life and how important are these little souls to our family.

We were stripped to the core and our hearts wrenched many times during the week. First to see her totally blinded and disoriented, then stressed and paralysed omg the trauma is real. Finally her little body lifeless in a coma, enduring all over tremors.

Then we faced the $3000/day vet bills and had near heart attacks when they started to pitch intensive care at $5000/day. Hearing that euthanasia would be a $200 way out to save our life savings I was cut to the core. Torn and disgusted that I would have to even decide. Oh the pain as we lie stressed, exhausted and grieving for Cleo.

Supported by many good wishes of friends and family, we started to set our intentions daily. On Tuesday I wrote a post it note you will have to click through the photos to see. And yesterday we finally were able to bring our baby home.

She is weak and tired but making leaps and bounds and surprising us daily. We have learnt a huge lesson about how much these little souls depend on us, love us unconditionally and full our lives with purpose, laughter and joy.

We are so thankful that Cleo chose to come back to us and we promise to support her back to hood health and vitality. And most of all never take her presence and company for granted. Ever.
