🚨 𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁: 𝗦𝗘 𝗤𝗟𝗗 𝗣𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸! 🚨

Pet owners, now is the time to act! A spike in tick paralysis cases is putting dogs and cats in serious danger. 💔

In September alone:
🐶 Gold Coast CVC has treated 33 cases, with 7 pets sadly passing away
🐱 Brisbane CVC has treated 11 cases, with 5 pets sadly passing away
🐾 Ipswich CVC has treated 10 cases since August

Tick paralysis can hit suddenly, causing weakness, difficulty breathing, and even death. Treatment often means intensive care, ventilation and thousands in emergency costs.

🛡️ Prevention comes in easy options like spot-ons, chews, and collars — safe, affordable and available now from your vet or pet store.

Don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Protect your pets before it's too late. Please contact your local AWLQ CVC or vet.

Amazing,this is great news for our wildlife.

🌿🐨 Exciting News for Logan’s Wildlife! 🦉🦘

We are thrilled to share that Logan Wildlife Association has been awarded $8,325 through Logan City Council’s EnviroGrants program! 🎉

This funding will allow us to purchase vital equipment including wildlife enclosures, transport cages, a Mistral warming system, veterinary floor scales, and crop needles for feeding baby birds. These resources will make an immediate difference for our volunteer carers and rescuers, helping us stabilise and rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife across the Greater Logan region.

Most importantly, this equipment will also transition into Logan’s first Wildlife Hospital once it becomes operational—ensuring long-term, life-saving impact for our local native species.

A huge thank you to Logan City Council for supporting our mission to protect and care for our wildlife, and to our incredible volunteers and community for always standing with us. 💚
Together, we are building a brighter future for Logan’s wildlife. 🌏✨

Don't do it! Don't walk your dog in the heat of the day - take them first thing in the morning or late evening when it is cooler.
This doesn't just apply to North Cyprus but the UK as well during this current heat wave. Be sensible, think of your dog.

The Wildlife Hospital at RSPCA Wacol is an invaluable service run by professional and compassionate Veterinarians, veterinary nurses and support staff. The need has never been greater to offer something like this in Logan. We receive daily calls for injured wildlife on top of the domestic pets we assist every day.
