š³Basic POWER STEERING drills with Areta
Areta learning a right side heel and how to get into that position using a 360 turn from both left heel and under postions.
Sheās just learning this new skill so my focus is enthusiasm, movement, mechanics then later we will increase speed.
Using toy or even high value luring food will send her arousal levels over which wonāt help produce an environment conducive to learning relative to Ateta. All dogs are different.
Once she has solid mechanics, I will introduce high value food and then last introduce a toy.
Sheās also learning to follow the shoulders from the front using tactile guidance.
Iām happy with her first session here, sheās a very quick study. Her handler on the other hand is a bit rusty, but weāre improving every day.
