Our October ladies day clinics are finished, and again I sit here tonight so very thankful to be part of our attendees journey. It is so satisfying to watch confidence grow and partnerships and friendships bloom. Thank you everyone for coming - one of our ladies messaged me tonight and said it perfectly- ‘we always have such a lovely group of people here’…and I couldn’t agree more 🥰 ❤️ 🙏

Today our little herd here lost one of its most gentle souls. Our beautiful Mira sustained a fatal injury in a freak paddock accident. She has left behind her precious baby girl whom I promised to her I would treasure always and so Mira lives on through her girl Luna.
Ive been super sad but also by pushing through with some Regular lessons we had some amazing breakthroughs with some beautiful moments which cheered me no end to see improvements coming from commitment and kindness - so thank you today (you know who you were) you guys brightened a sad day.
Fly high my sweet girl you deserve peace 🌈

Last weekend saw me back up at Glenreagh for another Cowboy Dressage Gathering. Super proud of how far my beautiful girl ‘Honey’ has come in just 9 months since coming off her maternity leave, she gave 100% try for her work and for that I am so grateful!
The cowboy dressage community is so supportive and encouraging for ‘partnership’ and above all else ‘soft feel’ - and to have such an amazing group as the girls from our Cowboy Dressage World Hastings MNC Australia
as camping buddies made it super enjoyable - thank you ladies!

Thanks to Coffs Coast Cowboy Dressage world Australia. for running as always, a smooth running and professional show for all of us to enjoy.

Obstacle mornings tomorrow (Friday28 Aug.)and Saturday morning will be going ahead …BUT will be walking only! So no trotting just to try and preserve the footing as much as possible for future events as well. So please let me know if you can join us for a fun morning of horse obstacle play and socialisation 😊☕️ 🐴

For those that are wondering how we are going down here at Shahzada….it goes something like this.
We had an absolutely amazing day….the wildflowers were stunning the views from the saddle from
Mountain tops were spectacular, Apa just ate up the ground and did his job like a professional…..
And then it was time for final vetting of the two horses. Sadly Nino didn’t make it through the vet check …..and Kathy preferred that Apa didn’t go out without Nino - so I needed to withdraw…. And so just like that it was swiftly over. This is the roller coast of endurance ( and most horse events if I’m honest) - from feeling on top of the world to extreme lows…thankfully I got some amazing photos from between the ears of my beautiful travelling partner to enjoy 🥰

So as most of you know I’ve taken this week off as a ‘holiday’….’holiday’ - ‘Sonya style’ …. which means I’m attempting to ride and successfully complete the Shahzada mini marathon- 120km through the stunning mountains of St. Albans. Huge thanks to Kathy Holtrust who has loaned me the beautiful Apa…so that I can accompany her in this attempt while she rides her other beautiful horse Nino! You may remember I had Apa and got him started back under saddle late last year after he had a long holiday - and then Kathy purchased him from me and has put so much work into his continued training that he has turned into the athlete that he is today. We have vetted in ✅ taken them out for a lite ride this afternoon ✅ they are settled for the evening ready for our day 1 ride of 42km starting at 6.30.
Pretty excited to be back here after a 10 year break from endurance.

Our two August clinic days have come and gone. Two beautiful groups of people and horses and we were also given perfect sunshiny weather (although this morning had us a little worried ☔️) .
I feel so privileged to be witness to growing confidence and major breakthroughs from both riders and horses….and it was also inspiring to see genuine support from all attendees towards each other. I am so grateful, as always, for the community we have here!

What a fantastic weekend we had here at Together Horsemanship. We collaborated with Hastings Performance & Quarter Horse Club & Cowboy Dressage World Hastings MNC Australia to host the amazing Tony Kellond to run a Cowboy Dressage clinic here. What an absolute joy it was watching our girls soaking up the knowledge and the beauty of this wonderful equine sport that I love so much myself - Cowboy Dressage….working on partnership and soft feel. To say I am proud of our girls would be an understatement- some showing huge improvements after an intense 2 days of working on their horses, some who so bravely stepped up to try doing their very first test at the end of the clinic…and doing a fantastic job by the way!!! And then to all our wonderful fence sitters who spent one or two days out of their weekend to come and take a look at how all the pieces of our riding with kindness and soft feel can culminate and come together to be able to ride a test.
I thank each and every one of you who came through the gates this past weekend. 🤩Hoping you’re all feeling as happy as I am.

Another wet but super successful day. Thanks so much for coming guys it was lovely to meet newbies and their beautiful horses as well as some regulars. Those of us on the mid north coast are getting used to dealing with these conditions…weather gods we are not afraid!! LOL ☔️
