How cute is Archibald! Archibald came to see us recently with his very concerned mum, Emma. He was coughing and retching, only a few days after his kennel cough vaccination. Emma quickly realised the cough had progressed to a vomit and he had no appetite. Some x-rays and ultrasound quickly showed us that his kennel cough vaccine was unlikely to be the culprit - it looked like there was some foreign material stuck in his stomach! Several hours later, Archibald was recovering from his surgery - we removed a clump of fabric from his stomach that was causing obstruction. Lucky for Archibald, his mum was so observant and quick to act when she felt Archibald was unwell.

Big thanks to Emma for gifting us a lovely box of donuts and sweets - our staff enjoyed this very much!

Canberra Veterinary Emergency Service (CVES), previously located in Gungahlin, have moved to a new location and have changed names. As of 29th of April they are Animal Emergency Service Canberra and have moved to their new location at 2 Barton Highway in Lyneham (they are working out of the same building as Canberra Vet Hospital). For any after-hours emergencies, please continue to contact them on (02) 6225 7257.

As ANZAC Day falls on a Saturday this year, our clinic will be closed this weekend from Saturday 25 April to Monday 27 April. We will reopen again as normal on Tuesday 28 April at 8:00am.

If your pet needs more food or medication ahead of the long weekend, please reach out to us tomorrow (Friday). For any pet emergencies while we are closed, please contact ARH on (02) 6280 6344 or CVES on (02) 6225 7257.
