Meet Donnan, our newest member in the fold.

If anyone is looking for a highland of their own we currently have three 16 month (approx) old steers available. Theses boys have not been halter trained, however are naturally quiet natured.

Herman has arrived at the farm, he is on holiday, spending some quality time with our girls.

Things don’t always go to plan, this big boy was born last night via vet help. Mum and calf going well at this stage. Huge thanks to Mark at the Longford vets and his wonderful partner Hannah for their assistance.

Someone new has joined the farm today!

Miss Bonnie again is the first to kick off calving with this little beauty arriving this morning. This little one is an AI calf to Dawson from MacAnLeister Highlands in SA.
Bonnie has previously proven to be a great mum, having a bull calf last year.

New additions are hitting the ground. Ewes are in excellent condition, with plenty of green grass about to keep them happy.

Fresh grass for the cattle and sheep today, they will all be happy with full bellies tonight. Spotted this little echidna crossing the paddock today, kids thought it was so cool, seeing something different.

Fergus, my big boy. Fergus was one of my first highlands, he ended up on farm by default, as a friend for a heifer I also got at the time. I gave him 12 months until I could get a couple more heifers, but the truth is he is by far the best one I have, many people don’t want steers, but he comes when I ask him to, he brings the others across the paddock and he has a great temperament, sometimes a little too playful and cheeky, but he is a big beautiful ball of fluff.

Some exciting things happening here at Highland View today.

The girls are prepping to be AI’d very soon, fingers crossed all goes to plan and we have more fluffy coos on the way.

We will have our three young steer calves available in June/July, we are taking expressions of interest now, direct message for more info.
