Everyone wants to talk about the barking.

The lunging.
The pulling.
The reactivity.

But honestly?

Those things are usually the horrible symptoms.

Not the problem.

Imagine if every time you got a headache, someone handed you Panadol and never bothered asking WHY you keep getting headaches.

That’s how a lot of dog training feels to me.

A lot of reactive dogs are running around with:

* no off switch
* poor sleep
* bu**er all fulfilment
* stress stacked on stress
* lives that don’t actually meet their needs

Then everyone acts shocked when they lose their minds at another dog.

I’m not saying every reactive dog just needs a beach trip and a nap.

I’m saying if we’re only looking at the behaviour and ignoring their lifestyle, we’re missing a huge piece of the puzzle.

That’s why I spend less time obsessing over whether your dog can sit and more time looking at how they’re actually living.

Because I don’t want a dog that’s just obedient.

I want a dog that’s happy.

And honestly? I know you want that too.

šŸ‘‡ Tell me below…

What’s your dog’s biggest struggle right now?

30/05/2026

Over the last 5 years, I’ve worked with hundreds of dogs.

Dogs whose owners:
• Stopped walking them because it was too much
• Avoided having visitors over because their dog would jump all over them
• Dreaded leaving the house because it wasn’t any fun
• Felt embarrassed by their behaviour
• Were told their dog was hopeless

Most weren’t hopeless.

They were misunderstood.

The right support can completely change the relationship between a dog and their owner.

I’ve seen people go from avoiding walks entirely to confidently taking their dog almost anywhere.

Don’t give up on your dog just because someone else did 🫶

Follow for realistic advice on how I’ve helped dozens of owners who were told their dog was a lost cause by other trainers 🫠

You’re safe here šŸ¤Ž

One of the biggest myths in dog training is that socialisation means interacting with everyone.

It doesn’t šŸ‘€

Socialisation is teaching your dog that the world exists without needing to engage with everything in it.

A dog that can calmly observe another dog?

Socialised.

A puppy that can watch people walk past?

Socialised.

A dog that can experience life without becoming overwhelmed?

Socialised.

Your dog doesn’t need 100 friends.

They need confidence and neutrality.

That’s what creates freedom later in life.

Send this to a puppy owner who needs to hear it!

Most reactive dogs don’t need another obedience exercise.

They need:
• Better sleep
• More genetic fulfilment
• Better recovery
• Quality diet
• Clearer communication

We often focus on the barking, lunging and pulling while completely ignoring what’s happening underneath.

A dysregulated dog struggles to learn.

A fulfilled dog learns much faster.

That’s why my approach isn’t just about teaching sit, stay and heel.

It’s about creating a dog that’s calmer, happier and easier to live with.

Because behaviour doesn’t exist in isolation.

Reactive dog owners become hypervigilant without even realising it 🄺

You start:
* scanning every environment
* checking escape routes
* watching every approaching dog
* constantly preparing for reactions

Your body is permanently bracing for something to go wrong.

And after a while?

Walks stop feeling relaxing at all.

This is something I wish more trainers acknowledged:
Reactive dog ownership affects the HUMAN nervous system too.

Which matters…
because dogs are incredibly sensitive to tension, emotion and environmental pressure.

This isn’t about blame.

It’s about understanding that calmness isn’t created through obedience alone.

Sometimes both the dog AND owner need:
āœ” decompression
āœ” confidence
āœ” support
āœ” clearer communication
āœ” better routines
āœ” fulfilment
āœ” emotional regulation

That’s why my coaching goes so much deeper than ā€œheel work.ā€

Because I want you to actually enjoy your dog again and feel relaxed walking them, not just low key panicking the whole time šŸ¤Ž

If this is you, message me and let’s help you and your dog stop stressing every walk

You are not failing your reactive dog.

Even if:
* walks feel impossible
* you’ve cried after walks
* you avoid busy places
* you feel embarrassed
* you’ve tried multiple trainers already
* you feel exhausted

Reactive dogs can be HARD emotionally.

And honestly?
A lot of owners end up carrying constant guilt because they think they should somehow magically know how to fix it.

But most people were never taught:

* how to read stress signals
* nervous system regulation
* fulfilment
* decompression
* threshold management
* clear communication
* emotional leadership

They were just told:
ā€œCorrect the dog.ā€
ā€œDistract them.ā€
ā€œTire them out.ā€

Meanwhile the dog stays overwhelmed…
and the owner becomes burnt out too.

That’s why my coaching focuses on the WHOLE picture:
āœ” nervous systems
āœ” lifestyle
āœ” fulfilment
āœ” communication
āœ” emotional regulation
āœ” real-world exposure
āœ” practical support

Because dog training should improve your LIFE together — not just create obedience.

You deserve to enjoy your dog again. Message me if you’re serious about improving your life with your dog.

Small dogs do not automatically mean easy dogs šŸ‘€

One thing I’ve noticed lately is more and more little dogs coming to me completely misunderstood — breeds like Jack Russells and Dachshunds that people expected to be ā€œlow maintenanceā€ simply because they’re small.

But here’s the thing…

A lot of these little guys were bred to WORK.

Jack Russells? Hunting dogs.
Dachshunds? Hunting dogs.
Terriers in general? Spicy little adrenaline junkies with huge personalities and strong instincts.

So when we bring them into suburban life expecting them to happily snooze on the couch all day with a quick walk around the block… things often start falling apart.

Pulling on lead.
Reactivity.
Constant barking.
Obsessive behaviours.
Destruction.
Never switching off.

Not because they’re ā€œbad dogsā€ — but because their brain and body are screaming for an outlet.

Ollie the Jack Russell is the perfect example. His flirt pole obsession is next level because that hunt drive is SO naturally strong in him. Yesterday his mum said to me:
ā€œI really feel like you get Ollie and understand his needs. You treat him like a working dog, not just another small dog.ā€

And honestly? Of course I do.

Because I can SEE him for who he is.

He’s not ā€œtoo much.ā€
He’s not naughty.
He’s a driven, intelligent little working dog that thrives when his needs are actually understood and fulfilled.

And the coolest part? Once owners stop fighting against what their dog is genetically wired for and start working WITH it… life gets so much easier.

Your walks become enjoyable.
Your dog settles better.
Training starts making sense.
You stop feeling frustrated and start understanding each other.

So if you’ve got yourself a little spicy dog and you’re sitting there thinking:
ā€œSurely small dogs aren’t meant to be this hardā€¦ā€ šŸ˜‚

Send me a message.

I’d love to help you better understand your dog, meet their needs properly, and build a life together that actually feels calm, fun, and fulfilling for BOTH of you.🐾

POV: You finally convince yourself to take your reactive dog for a walk.

Everything is going well.

And then…

You spot another dog in the distance.

Immediately your body tenses.
You shorten the lead.
Your heart starts racing.
You start calculating escape routes like you’re in a survival movie 😭

Reactive dog owners become hypervigilant.

And honestly?
It’s exhausting.

What people DON’T see is how mentally draining it becomes trying to constantly manage your environment while also trying to stay calm for your dog.

This is why reactive dog training is never just about obedience to me.

Because if the nervous system is overloaded - for BOTH the dog and the owner - learning becomes so much harder.

Sometimes we need to slow down.
Create clarity.
Build confidence.
Lower overwhelm.
Improve fulfilment.
And help both ends of the leash feel safer moving through the world together.

You deserve walks that don’t leave you emotionally drained.

And your dog deserves support, not shame.

If this hit home, send me a message šŸ¤Ž

The hardest part about owning a reactive dog usually isn’t even the barking.

It’s the feeling.

The dread before walks.
The scanning every street corner looking for triggers.
The sore shoulders.
The embarrassment when people stare.
The guilt when you start avoiding walks altogether because it feels easier than dealing with another reaction.

A lot of reactive dog owners feel isolated.
Ashamed.
Like they’ve failed somehow.

But honestly?

Most of the owners I work with care MORE than the average dog owner ever will.

They’re trying.
They’re exhausted.
And most of them have been given advice that doesn’t actually address the real problem.

Reactive dogs are rarely just an ā€œobedience issue.ā€

A lot of them are overwhelmed.
Overstimulated.
Struggling to regulate.
Lacking clarity, fulfilment, structure or emotional support.

And sometimes their owners are too.

That’s why my approach focuses on lifestyle, nervous systems, fulfilment and real-world coaching — not just commands.

Your dog is not hopeless.
And neither are you.

DM me ā€œREACTIVEā€ if walks currently feel more stressful than enjoyable.

I know a lot of people have been wondering what’s been going on with me lately, so I thought I’d do a little personal update šŸ¤Ž

As most of you know, I got food poisoning on Valentine’s Day this year and honestly… I just never really got better afterwards. Since then, I’ve been dealing with nausea, stomach issues, food intolerances, and all the fun testing and appointments trying to figure out what was actually wrong.

A couple of weeks ago, I finally got diagnosed with a stomach bacterial infection and did a full round of antibiotics for it… which also make you feel sick, so that was fun 🫠

Since one particularly bad episode right before the antibiotics, my gut health has basically gone completely downhill. For the last few weeks I’ve only been able to eat slow-cooked meat, vegetables, and some fruit because my stomach just can’t process anything else right now without making me feel sick.

Which also means… I haven’t had coffee in over 3 weeks ā˜•ļøšŸ˜
And honestly, if you know me, you know how tragic that is hahaha.

The good news is I am finally starting to feel a little bit better, and I’ve been seeing the most beautiful naturopath who has honestly been a godsend through all of this šŸ™Œ I’ll tag her below because so many of you recommended her.

I’m now focusing on healing my gut and slowly reintroducing normal foods again over the next few weeks, which honestly feels VERY exciting right now šŸ˜‚

Thank you so much to everyone who has checked in on me, been understanding while I’ve had to reschedule things, and just shown so much kindness through all of this. It’s been a really rough few months, but I finally feel like I can see a light at the end of the tunnel! ✨
