šŸ’œLouie and Cindy Bacon just love snuggling together . So funny as just weeks ago we had Lenny and Taco at the same time as well and they are still the best of buddies . Who would of thought a lamby and piggy would be the best of friends šŸ’œ

Some new faces born today in Fat hen farmyard area . Gus our new dad GPig in obviously doing a great job with the ladies šŸ˜‚with his first babies being a whooping 5 healthy and babies to one mumma . šŸ’œ

Funnily with all the animals I have worked with over the years, I have had the most head knocks from dam accidental alpaca heads šŸ˜†. Thought Iā€™d take a little snippet of the pacas eating to walking away with blood nose and a sore eyeballšŸ˜‚. ( donā€™t get in the way of Moki and his food lol) The old saying , Blood,sweat and tears speaks truth on the farm .

Our resident platypus has been super active lately heā€™s been spotted nearly every time we have gone down to turn the pump on at the dam. šŸ’œitā€™s something we take for granted how lucky we are to see these things daily on the farm if we want to .
šŸ„Open tomorrow 10-1 brand new chickā€™s hatching should be able to see them literally hatching in the shed in our educational see through incubator.

Ollie and Burnie just doing their daily dance off, they are getting slower and slower so maybe those tiny pea brains are growing šŸ˜œ

Chocolate spangled girls looking abit ratty after being with the boys and after nearly a whole butt trim are starting to spangle up a bit more. And that butt trim must of worked I just put my first chocolate eggs in lockdown , canā€™t wait to see what the little fluff balls look like . I havenā€™t seen a chocolate chick before . šŸ¤Ž

Special delivery today of new coccidiosis vaccine vials .
This liquid gold usually lasts 3-4 weeks , it is a big expense ( mainly in the refrigerated postage )but worth every penny. Last year I didnā€™t see a bloody p**p in my brooders .
If you got chicks in the last week, and I hadnā€™t vaccinated them your welcome to bring your chicks back and Iā€™ll do it for free as itā€™s in the costs when you buy our chicks , if you want your own chicks done we can do it for $1 a chick ( under 2 weeks and non hen brooded chicks for biosecurity reasons )

Anyone else praying for rain ?
Hopefully we get some this week. šŸ¤ž
The paddocks are super bare and so are our water tanks šŸ˜³
Luckily we can always count on the acacia to be green and super tasty as an extra nutritional treat for the animals.
Did you know wattle (acacia) is high in protein and Essential Minerals, they supply important minerals like calcium and phosphorus. Which is great for strong bones, teeth and muscle growth . We use this as around 15% of the diet as well as lucerne, oaten hay, grains and of course grass .

Note we donā€™t have a public toilet but there is toilets only a few minutes down the Rd At DAguliar and wamuran . ( as we grow so will are facilities )

How cute are these olive egger chicks coming out of frizzle naked neck polish pen. We have a couple of Coloured eggers in the pen just for fun and also are out eating eggs but Iā€™m thinking they should be excellent layers . So many possibilityā€™s in one egg haha 50% frizzle , 50% naked neck , could lay a coloured egg .

Donā€™t forget we are open tomorrow 10-1 and also Monday for the public holiday.
