Tan-A-Lou Performance horses offers a variety of services including horse training, showing, non pro and youth instruction and clinics. Tania Powell-Gibson was born in Queensland, Australia, and has over 20 years experience in the horse industry. In Australia her mentors inclu

ded many of the top names in the industry, including Ian Francis, who most notably also mentored Clinton Anderson. In 2013, Tania moved to the United States to further her career in the horse industry, getting the opportunity to train, learn from, and work with many talented trainers, breeders, and ranches in the western performance horse industry. Her show record speaks for itself, as she has personally won many State and National titles in Reining and other western disciplines, both NRHA and AQHA, on her own horses she has bred and owned, as well as many client horses. She has led many non-pro and youth clients and their horses to State and National Title wins as well. Her clientele include all ages and all levels, from youth to novice riders to experienced riders. Though now located in Tennessee, USA, Tania continues to travel back to Australia 2 or 3 times a year to put on sold-out clinics and train and coach her clients. MOVING HOME MAY 2021

RULES FOR TANALOU SHOWS

So I do try and run under RHAA rules but I do class my shows as TRAINING days. Meaning I have a few rules that are for my shows only lol
Example-
💥Snaffle in any of the classes even open you don’t have to ride in a bit or be one handed.
( would suggest tho if your competing in the Real world of Ranch practice one handed for sure in a correct shank bit)
💥You can only ride beginner rider if your not a confident rider per say
💥Any saddle
💥Helmet or cowboy hat
💥Jeans or Jody’s or pants of sorts with long sleeved shirt
💥 Beginner horse young horse or a horse that’s never competed in an event before
💥Rookie riders are those that are above improvers , can canter are wanting to try lead changes , havnt been winning championships in the SHOW WORLD for example champion Rookie at state or national levels ,
💥Junior youth isn’t necessarily a young youth rider it’s for those youth that can’t canter yet are learning , on a lead or just off lead
💥Senior youth are those kids under 15 that are cantering , are starting to ride well, understand patterns to a degree , once they win a championship any where the are not in youth or if they win 🥇 here at my Show like a buckle they step out .
💥Beginner rider and beginner horse no log drag unless I know your able
💥You can skip any obstacle your not wanting to try and you just can’t place in front of others that do all the course.
💥Beginner rider is trotting but you can canter in spots if you wish but won’t be scored higher
💥No lead changes in improver rider or rookie 1 you can try but it’s not a MUST
💥 Rookie 2 attempt lead changes if you miss you do get a penalty
💥Reining patterns are sometimes Actually A reining pattern
💥novice and open run with all manuvours being done therefore penalties will be as per proper Ranch Rules.
💥 judging is done to the best of the Judges ability meaning we will ensure we are fair and transparent in our scoring.
💥 As we have all types of horses attending Judges will choose the best horse in the group that travels in a frame that is Of Ranch correctness ( not below the vertical & not to above the vertical, well gaited , forward moving with a nice frame looking more of a natural Ranch style )
💥Although the RANCH HORSE should be a very flat going head set straight out from the wethers I the judges will endeavor to pick the horse closed to the correct style with out a death grip on reins. MEANING - if there’s a higher headed horse but rider isn’t on his face then there’s a rider on a horse’s face but in correct frame that horse will not place over the higher headed loser reined rider as an example for my Shows
💥Scoring is as per normal Ranch Rules in each class.
💥 All trotting , jogging is seated unless EXTENDED JOG is asked you may rise or stand for this manuvour.
